The Blue Boar - Menú

Been to a few of our locals for lunch and been disappointed, today was different. Made to feel welcome by the staff and they wanted you to come back. Food was very good, service was great, makes a nice change to be made to feel welcome and the staff actually care. Thank you.

From the minute we got there, the welcome was impeccable, the waitress Olive was so lovely and knowledgeable, the food served was big but really gorgeous. We had prawn cocktail to start, steak pie and mash and found some room for a pudding. Thank you Blue Boar team. You made our visit so special

that was nice to eat. the pod was maybe a little small for 8 people, 6 would be better. we had assumed that the pode would be covered, but the sides were so cool, although they provided cover. everything in all it was a good evening and it was nice to sit in the pod as it was very beautifully decorated, so made for good photos!

we were the only outside diver and the staff clearly forgot. we eat around 19.10 and around 19.40 our tellers were not yet cleared and no one had asked if we need more drinks or the dessert menu. we sent our eldest son to ask for the bill he himself brought out. no one asked if we enjoyed our meal. eating was nice, but service was shocking. would definitely not go back there or recommend to anyone.

Haven’t been here for many years but decided to give it a go as in the area. Firstly make sure you enter your registration on the iPad otherwise you will end up with a parking fine. The friendly staff did remind us on arrival. All staff really friendly and the menu is nice lots of choice. I opted the the cheeseburger but was a bit disappointed with it as it was nothing special. I would give it another try though.

Beautiful venue traditional pub reserved Christmas dinner for 7 of my family no atmosphere of Christmas You get one chance at Christmas dinner? I do not blame the staff. I blame me for choosing this venue absolutely disaster no Christmas crackers on the table to get in the mood Christmas dinner was a 4 out of 10 no trimmings, stuffing etc had to ask for drinks twice likewise for a pudding never never again overrated

Having read the reviews we were very apprehensive about The Blue Boar in Abridge. I felt I needed to write a review as we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had a great welcome from the staff and we were seated in the restaurant which was very festive and friendly, they also reminded us to input the car reg no. for the car park. I had a very pleasant meal on a cold midweek evening. The restaurant was almost empty, just 3 tables with other guests, but it was quiet which suited us. The food was very good, if a little rushed. It was very obvious that we were the last in and the staff wanted to leave. As soon as our desert arrived the lights in the kitchen were turned off. You also need to be ok with dogs running around the place. We had a chat with the owner about the impact inflation was having on his business. Less and less people eating out. We decided to go here as a last resort as all the best pubs were fully booked. 12 of us out celebrating my nans birthday. First thing we experienced as we walked through the door was the stench of poo from the toilets, walk past that to the bar area owners just sat their blowing his nose, slurping up his own dinner, gross.
