Very dissatisfied with the food, fish didn’t taste nice, the ‘big’ kids burger was burnt and just ripped up. Kids refused to eat it Service: Dine in Food: 1 Service: 2

Food wasn't the best. Portions need to be bigger to reflect on price and quality as they were small. As I was in the que on day the person serving at the hotplate was rubbing his hands on his head, sweat, and dripping nose, then touching food without cleaning hands, so I walked out. Called in to have a look at the menu and ended up staying for a bite to eat. Tried to order via the app but a bit confusing. Waitress rescued us and sorted our order. Food arrived before the drinks. The kitchen is open so you can see food being prepared and cooked. Ordered 2 for £18... gammon scampi. I had the gammon with egg. A decent size piece of gammon and egg cooked perfectly. Scampi was cook but could have done with more tartare sauce.

Had Sunday lunch at the Brighouse, and for the first time in many years, being an owner, I was disappointed with the meals. We chose the beef meal and only had one small slice of beef and a few vegetables. This is the first time I've had a poor meal in this restaurant. The staff were very obliging and polite. I recently had a terrible dining experience at a this restaurant that left me completely disappointed. I ordered the katsu curry, which turned out to be a disaster. The chicken was extremely soggy and tasted bland and very bad. It was as if they had poured hot water over some random ingredients and called it a dish. On top of that, I ordered a side of veggies, which consisted of soggy-looking carrots and broccoli that cost £3.99. These were described as good to go, but when I tried taking a bite, it tasted horrible! It was a complete waste of money. To make matters worse, I also ordered the loaded burger fries. There was no cheese, the quantity was far too small, and there was no meat or any...

Before I get started on the bad I'll say the staff and service here was lovely. I can't fault that but unfortunately we only visited once. And there's a reason for that. We ordered 2 hunters chickens,a side of chicken dippers for me and my husband to share and 2 pints of coke. We ordered a kids meal which we got for a £1 can't grumble at that but my 5 year old was given a glass cup for his milk. Glass, really. The 2 pints of coke were flat and didn't taste like coke and had ice in which i asked for no ice. I really wish we had sent them back but I hate to cause a fuss. We waited over 40 minutes for our desserts. We chased this up and the staff brought them out 6 minutes after chasing. We politely requested to have some money off the bill due to the huge wait. The Manager on shift on evening of 2nd September told us the kitchen had not received the order. We explained that we were customers that hated to complain, but we 100% made the order. We could not remember who served as as there were several waitresses and waiters running around the place, but requested that thinking about 'customer first ' they took what we were saying in good faith.
