"we have in the cartshed many times in the run of the years at a point that visits weekly to breakfast. we have often seen the owners and entertained with the staff and one of the chefs. we were regularly the only guests who enjoy an early breakfast on a...Saturday morning during the lockdown. the service seemed to go down a few months ago so we stopped going. we started a few weeks ago, but our visit on Saturday left us. here is the list of things that went wrong: false eggs on an early piece. extrabutter toast was barely baked (see photo.) when I was asked for butter, a sharp answer was given to me that it has already been throttled." the breakfast came out again, with the right one, but only one. another fried egg was delivered, but was stone cold. braided to the counter and was filled with what it is this time." I also asked for replacement butter toast. the breakfast appears as ordered, my man almost finished his breakfast in this phase. then something toast is delivered with a sarcastic “hope it has enough butter for you” – it looked like it had been bathed in butter. then I asked to cancel the breakfast order and a refund. while all this hasn't even excused anyone. another waitress appeared and gave me money back for the breakfast (not for the drink or extra toast.) I then went to the counter and asked for a card refund – as I had paid from the card and also asked to repay toast. the waitress said, "Why are you giving me all these shy?" I was amazed, I only made a very valid complaint, so was quite shocked by this. she ran into the kitchen and said, "that b*tch is out there." I was so shocked. another employee appeared and gave me the refund, as required by law, back to the debit card. I was thinking about how I complained about it. I know the personal would not behave like that if the owners were there. I tried to contact the owners directly, but no one answers the phone. Anyway, on the read reply to other reviews from the cartshed, I decided to post this. this was a true representation of events. make sure that if they complain about the service here, out fear of the hurried, cried a b*tch and ended very hungry. and yes, the prices have increased exactly as expected in view of the current climate, but eating it is not worth and the service is not available. let us see how the cartshed reacts to this review."

Good food good value for money for a bit of brunch. Staff were very friendly and quick with drinks/food. Garden could do with a little tlc but fine for a cafe.

Average score for average food. Nice venue, if a little hot as all the windows were shut and not allowed to use the seats outside because of the neighbours. Ridiculous. Veggie Brunch was OK, no seasoning and a cold grilled mushroom. Good poached eggs but...needed seasoning on everything really. Good Covid safety and dog friendly which is nice.

beautiful caffe, good eating and good choice for vegans. However, although they put my application on a vegan breakfast (no halloumi/no eier and instead double the avocado and beef baked), instead I was tinned yes tinned bohnen and nothing else was given to replace the halloumi and eggs and still loaded £10. absolutely unhappy and will not return.

A very pleasant surprise. Not the easiest of places to find but well worth the effort. Very friendly and pleasant staff who could not have been note helpful. Afternoon tea was excellent with a wide choice of exceptional sandwiches. Their home made warmed sausage roll...was an alternative to some mouth watering lemon drizzle cake. We will be back soon to sample their breakfast and luncheon!

The venue although hard to find, is a little gem. By booking ahead for a group of 12 disabled people, the parking was easy. There is a flat path to the main entrance and a portable ramp for wheel chairs., The loo, although wide enough...for wheel chairs, could do from benefiting with grab rales, as wheelchair users found it difficult to transfer. The food was excellent, with the best scones. One member was gluten free and she was amazed by the plate presented. Tea and coffee were unlimited. Overall it was excellent and we would certainly go again.

Was really looking forward to our breakfast at the Cart Shed. Arrived at 10am for our reservation, at which point there were only a few tables occupied. Ordered breakfast and drinks at 10:08. By 10:30, other tables had arrived and were already being served their...food. We politely asked the waiter for an update on our meals, who admitted that he’d misplaced our order and food will be with us shortly. Food came out 43 minutes after the initial order, and was stone cold. We called the waiter back over, and even asked him to touch the food (which he did) with his hand to verify that it was cold, which he did. We asked to speak with the manager. Another 5 minutes passed before he came to speak...

"We usually love coming to Cafe Rouge in Henley, always a treat for us and we are always looking forward to it. However the most recent visit was awful and it’s been going downhill over our last coupes of visits. We booked a table for my father in laws birthday. Upon being seated, we were informed that 3 of the main course dishes were unavailable.. pretty much half of the ‘mains’ options. We don’t come to Cafe Rouge for Burgers or salad! We opted for 3 portions of Mussels as had them here before and they’re very good! Mother in law just had pate as there was nothing else she wanted. These were possibly the worst mussels we’ve ever had. You could tell they weren’t fresh (cooked from frozen for sure) and there was barely any sauce in the pot! Usually they are flavourful and abundant in sauce! No check back was performed by the manager on duty..it was a quiet Monday so wasn’t exactly run off his feet. So we couldn’t alert him. Even upon clearing we weren’t ask how our meal was! Just asked if we had finished. We decided to mention they were awful to which the manager told us he would inform the kitchen. When he came back to finish clearing, my partner asked if they were frozen or fresh mussels, to which the manager replied yes, they are frozen. Wasn’t expecting that but you could totally tell! They tasted like cardboard! We had a coffee and a pudding and to be fair to the manager he didn’t charge us for one portion of mussels and the coffees we ordered. The Bill was certainly not worth what we had. Didn’t leave a tip, which we never normally do, but the service was non existent. Manager was more interested in what was on his phone. Won’t be rushing back"
