The Case Is Altered Old Redding

Roast beef Sunday lunch was excellent. Good portion size of mouth watering beef and good selection of vegetables. Highly recommend

It was a quiet Tuesday evening when I went with a friend for a pint and meal. But the food was great and the service friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We arrived at The Case is Altered as scheduled, but to our disappointment, the venue was closed. We were not impressed, as they should not have accepted our reservation in the first place.

Thankyou open table, you sent me 2 emails saying that my table was booked for a special 80th birthday. We got there and the pub had shut down!!!!!! No where to go with elderly people on a Sunday lunch time. Awful service.

The pub was closed, and this completely ruined my evening. I had to find parking and walk in the rain, only to discover that it was locked with no signs indicating it was closed. I then had to trek back to my car in the rain to look for another place to eat. Ver carta

The food was good and the set up is great for a family. Unfortunately they are very much understaffed at the moment and while the service was friendly and polite it took a very long time for food and drinks to come (and they were out of most of their Sunday roast options) due to not having enough people to cover the number of tables they have.

We had been looking forward to our Sunday lunch but unfortunately we were so disappointed. Our table was booked for 3pm but our food did not arrive until 5pm. The place was chaotic and trying to find someone to firstly take our order and then wait so long for our food was unacceptable. Our table and area was not clean. The food was ok but the steaks my kids ordered were both luke warm. A 20% discount was deducted from the bill and the manager apologised for the wait explaining that there was a system problem with WiFi. We wanted to support this local pub but I don't feel we would go back there again.

Went for Sunday lunch to the Case in Altered in Old Reading. Pretty busy gastro pub. There is a more limited menu in a Sunday but still good choice. The chicken roast was a bit small for a hungry person but fair price for what you get which is a nice tasty quality plate of food. Lamb is better value as you get a sizable leg. For me I had fish and chips and that was lovely. Not too much batter and came dressed in a pretend newspaper. Little touches which make the difference. The staff were great which really was the best part- the manageress (Maria) made us very welcome even though we have never been there before and made a real fuss of both Mum and Mother in Law who not gone out much since C...
