Pulled into the Cricketers to use their EV charging point and broke down metres from it nearly blocking the entrance to their car park. Staff were lovely and understanding. Would break down here again

We stayed here for a concert at Audley End and it was perfect from the minute we arrived. Sunday dinner was beautiful, staff friendly and happy, rooms clean and cosy and breakfast was lovely! Definitely coming back!

As part of our Dinner B&B stay we had a dinner. The food was well cooked, presented, served and overall we had a very nice experience. We would happily visit again. Our breakfast was freshly cooked to order and excellent. Ver carta

Everything was not as we had previously enjoyed at The Cricketers Clavering. So disappointing , Now, as it really could be any cheap village pub but at a higher cost. Cannot be bothered to comment further as we will NOT return -End…

Really lovely hotel rooms great for a stay before flight from Stansted airport a lot better than a hotel airport and free parking. Staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the best, sausages were hard and the bacon was smoked and we prefer back bacon but croissants we’re beautiful. Would definitely stay again.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to dine. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It offers excellent value for the money. The hotel is located in a lovely area that is perfect for exploring sites in Cambridge and Saffron Walden. I highly recommend visiting Audley End, as it is a must-see attraction. Ver carta

We were extremely disappointed with our dinner experience on Sunday. With guests over from Germany we thought this would be the perfect place for their first meal in the UK and a great Sunday roast. We ordered x4 pork roasts as the sirloin was all sold out but these took ages to arrive. The 2 thin pork slices were mostly fat with very little meat, maybe 20% was meat and the rest fat! The potatoes were soggy and nowhere near crispy and tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding was also soggy and over cooked. Such a massive disappointment and I wish I hadn’t paid the service charge !!!

We have been going to the Cricketers for many years so was really looking forward to going on Christmas Eve as it had been a long time since we had eaten out due to covid. The staff were welcoming and friendly as we would have expected, however we did not have the great meal we were expecting.Our starter was very good and really enjoyed it but our mains were below par, my pasta was al dente but perhaps a bit too al dente and others in our party had vegetables which I am told were almost raw. Whilst we understand they should have a bite to them they had a bit too much bite. Dessert was great I am told.We should have mentioned our issues at the time I suppose. However, we will probably go back...

This is our third visit for an overnight stay but the first since it had new owners. My wife and I stayed for one night with an evening meal and breakfast. The room staff and breakfast were all very good. Unfortunately our evening meal was disappointing. Our starters and my steak were all good. However my wife ordered triple cut chips and fish. The fish was fine but the chips were soggy and very dark brown. They tasted like they had been cooked in old oil that was overdue for a change. These were so soft and not at all like triple cooked chips. We raised the issue with the waitress who replaced them without any fuss.
