The Crown Anchor is a classic seaside pub in Eastbourne. Come here for brews and the quintessential fish chips. The fare was tasty, and the vibe is fun....

Well... we did had food just because were hungry. Otgerwise not worth visiting. Lack of clean tables, horrible toilets,service not great...garlich mushrom was not possible to eat,loads vinegar/acid. And pricey!

Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Had the bangers and mash which was delicious and a pint of Guinness which went down a treat. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Overall a first class pub

We went here last night staff friendly nice atmosphere food fantastic. I had the special steak and kidney ale pie omg lovely bits of steak pastry amazing. My husband had vegan option nut roast again all hot and can't fault our meals highly recommend

Gorgeous setting on the water. Lovely dining area. Great service...huge, devoted crowds....parking required walki g, which wasno issue. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 parties had the fish and chips. Portions were enormous but taste was so-so. Soggy crust and very greasy. Fries were great.

Visited on a Friday when they had live music during our weekend stay. A decent all round pub. Friendly smiling staff who were eager to serve you unlike some pub staff. Great food decent portions and good value. Everything was well presented. Overall a great pub. Can be busy at times so best to book a table if you plan to eat. Five minute walk from our hotel saved going into the town centre.

Staff seem quite lazy, like they don't want to be there. Assume chef has changed in the last year or two as food not as good as it used to be. My wife witnessed a member of staff using a broom to sweep the coffee station counter down and then use the same broom on the floor. I didn't use the toilets but my wife said the ladies were dirty and no toilet roll in one of the cubicles, which tells me they're not attended regularly.
