"This venue is exactly as it says on line. An old fashioned barge converted for on board and on riverbank dining. The menu isn't long, as the galley wouldn't allow it, but the selection fills most peoples requirements. Owner plus youngsters serving. Owner is clearly passionate about her cafe. I started with a chicken Laksa, nicely if gently spiced and had a baguette with breakfast ingredients inside. Good bacon herby sausages and egg. My mint hot chocolate was very indulgent. My partner had healthier but equally tasty food. The inside of the barge seems still very authentic. Friendly chatty staff, would recommend."

"After I have eaten many of the restaurants stacked from late, I'm looking for the interesting when I have penetrated the menu. cafe rouge met my “off slopes” needs with exciting things like the plucked tortellini, sweet risotto and croquettes. it is a chain, yes, but with that in maidstone there is at least one guaranteed quality seal. service, indoor area, food preparation, teller presentation was error-free. they feel like something else and European, they go to the cafe rouge."

"We had a nice lunch, food was good. Waitress must have visited our table approx. 6-8 times to check we were okay, did we need more drinks when they already just arrived, asked us three times if our meal was okay! Then whilst friend was paying me and my elderly Mother were waiting at the door and someone came over to us to ask if we’d paid. As we were standing in the doorway, not the best getaway and a little insulted. Staff need to chill on the ‘Is everything okay’ If we need drinks our glasses would be nearly empty and asking if the food is okay, ask once not three times! Presume two more older people are not trying to cut and run and don’t tell me this happens often in Loose"

"delicious eating together with excellent customer service makes this a great place to dive. mrs. and I came here after we broke our daughters at brownies to the corner. I recommended the waitress that we had only over an hour, so we need quick food. they didn't disappoint. we had an appetizer, main and dessert, along with two alcoholic drinks and a glittering water, all in the time we had. to round it, the bill came to £86, what we felt was reasonable. the waitress even said we could go home with what we didn't finish. we would definitely visit again."

"Having not visited this pub for dinner for a while, and after having mixed feedback from friends. I must admit we were hesitant about whether we should take our friends there…. But … We were not disappointed and will return!! Despite being mega busy we received amazing service. Attentive enough without pushy and we were well looked after by our friendly waitress. Food was tasty, scotch egg little over done in the middle but didn’t spoil the actual taste. The chilli beef nachos were a great hit. When the Haddock arrived they were big enough to surf on lol. Very fresh and again large portion of fajita chicken and a couple of us even had room for deserts (not sure how) but they managed a banoffee pie and a crumble. Really good place to visit with tasty food, large portions and a buzzy atmosphere"
