"A well located restaurant by the water, nicely furnished. If only the food matched. I had the pork belly ribs for £18.95. Described as a full rack of baby back rubs glazed with a soy and bbq rub served with skinny fries and salad. So the ribs were plainly steamed without any rub and it was served with a bottle of bbq sauce poured over it. The fries had been cooked in oil which was old or overcooked as they had that awful rancid oil taste and the salad was a few pieces of lettuce with two small tomatoes cut in half. It was frankly barely edible . Worse late that day my stomach was decidedly unhappy. So choose wisely. You are paying for venue and not good food. Staff are friendly. But for what they served for £18.95 I felt ripped off. Have had far far superior ribs for similar price many times elsewhere. Would never go there again."

A nice place to have a drink but not much to offer in terms of vegan and vegetarian food...

Monday night quiz night epic. The quiz is always great fun, food is great and the staff are brilliant. The beer is spot on.

Ordered the vegetarian platter and they gave us the meat platter. I could have been sick! Updated from previous review on 2021-08-14

Came here for dinner one night while I was working in the area. The food was excellent (I had the fish and chips) and was well presented. The service was also excellent.

This was quite nice, though not really hot by the time it reached me. The other choice on 9/8/21 was a burger and there was a choice of vegan icecream or salted caramel tart of some sort for dessert (though I didn’t have either). There’s also a Sunday roast option.

There was a lovely warm atmosphere at the bar. We called in for a warming drink on three occasions over the Christmas period. The mulled cider was excellent as was the hot chocolate (with regular milk and with oat-milk). The snack platters, including pork belly, salt and pepper squid, were most enjoyable. Ver carta

It didn 't take long to choose a vegan meal on the menu as there 's only two choices (maybe three)! The curry sounded vegan friendly but the waiter didn 't seem confident so we went for the plant burgers. It tasted fine, nothing special though. Was just like every other 'easy to get and serve vegans ' patty thats become popular in UK pubs.

Arranged to meet a fellow veggie friend here for lunch. We sat down, ordered a fabulous beer and then to our great disappointment realised that there was only one veggie meal in the menu. Veggie burger and chips!! Not healthy and I don’t like chips. Ended up having starters. Very poor menu for veggies, it was like going back to the 1979s, really behind the times. And cutting out a huge market of customers . Shame because the beer was so good.

"My friend kindly decided to take me another friend along to this her local pub for Xmas lunch on the 12th of December which we were all looking forward too, as we have eaten there before. Unfortunately on entering the pub it seemed quite cold as there was no open fire lite when we asked they told us they had run out of kindling, so we kept out coats on for sometime until we all warmed up. Then when we kindly asked for the menu unfortunately they had none of these as apparently they had ran out of ink for there printer so we then had to look at there written board on the wall, which had fish chips added to it. We were then told by the waitress they had no chips lol but you can have potatoes, unbelievable for a pub to run out of chips. When our meals arrived it was quite disappointing for a Christmas dinner the Yorkshire pud was completely flat, but you did get vegetables served separately which were quite a good variety even though there wasn’t lots. We then went onto order our deserts Once again to add disappointment they didn’t have any crème brûlée so the choice was just Xmas pud with brandy butter or ice cream. So one of my friends could only have ice cream as she’s gluten free who always fancies that on a cold day, me my other friend had the Xmas pud that was served in a pie dish which was not very appealing or professional looking it was served with custard not the brandy butter like the menu said. We did complain as my friends Xmas pud was also lukewarm they did kindly apologise warm it up. Because we complained they did take some of our bill. But I don’t think we will be visiting again anytime soon."
