The Denby Lodge - Carta

What a pleasant surprise, we have enjoyed a superb meal this evening the food is really fresh and very large portions. Will definitely be booking again!! Super impressed

I've never been here before, parking was no drama, big car park, the food was average, the service was ok, would I come back, more than likely not, there are much better places locally to visit but never say never.

I travelled from Burton on Trent to meet with family for my dads birthday, first time I have eaten here and I was not disappointed the food was beautiful and loads of it, the service first class. Will definitely by visiting again as my family...are all local. Ver carta

We have just returned from our annual Christmas lunch, this year we decided to try Denby Lodge, absolutely first class meal, service and lovely friendly atmosphere, nothing to much trouble for the staff excellent choice of menu and very reasonably priced we have...decided to make it a monthly meeting meal because we can't wait until next Christmas!

Thought I would try out a new local for some food and a drink (or two lol), but the service from whom I can only assume is the manager was awful. The waiting staff were all lovely, however the manager was just horrible. Then, our...meals were interrupted by this manager slamming and kicking doors, screaming/ swearing at staff and making such a scene for some miniscule issue I cannot even remember. I would not be coming here again unless a management change is made, and I imagine most new customers would think the same if they got a similar experience to me. Totally unqualified.

The bar and restaurant were definitely not busy, we had booked a table and would have liked to have had a drink in peace before eating, this seemed unacceptable so we ordered. The wine was served in strange tumblers, this was probably due to the...young staff who had no clue about customer service!! The menu is very limited , the management are brusque to the point of rudeness and the staff are more interested in gossiping behind the bar than doing the job they are paid for. The management seem to be having some personal issues hopefully the owners will sort out these problems before they lose all their trade!! Ver carta

We have been coming to Denby Lodge for some time, the food is nice and always been a good standard, especially for the price. The quality of staff does seem to have gone down hill. The barman was very inattentive and obviously would rather be...somewhere else. The waiting staff were also completely uninterested. Our food was put down and we needed to wait for cutlery. Nothing else was said not asked if we wanted sauces or salt and pepper, no enjoy your meal the cutlery was put down and she left, never to be seen again. Visited here this week with some friends and never seen or heard a manager/owner so rude before! We were sat on a table near the kitchen which was all fine and well until the “manager” started swearing and shouting at his staff in the kitchen...loud enough for the customers to hear. This ruined the experience and just made our party feel tense and uncomfortable. The serving staff were lovely and friendly and helped us when we needed however this was spoilt by the owner who just shouted at them and argued with who I assume is the landlady. I have been coming to the lodge for many years, and I’m not sure what has happened! It used to be a peaceful, warm and welcoming experience however recently it’s been anything but. I visited during the Christmas Fayre and the meals was rushed and...placed in front of us before I even had time to remove my coat, when I asked the manager if we could wait a minute for our food and get some drinks first, she simply huffed and walked away shouting and swearing into the kitchen and at the young staff members.
