"A little bit more character than your average cafe, we were pleased we chose to pause here for a light lunch. The soup and roll option appealed the roll was large and fresh, and the soup tasty (broccoli and cheddar). The sweet treats were impossible to resist, and so we followed up with coffee and cake. I asked for a double shot in a smaller cup, and got a good coffee of a decent strength. We chose the carrot cake and the Victoria sponge both were fresh and moist. We also asked for some tap water which came out in a generous sized glass which we appreciated. This is quite a large cafe with tables at the rear under the dome, and in little booths at the front with a view out to the street. It is not a stuffy space the front door was open letting in some cool air on a warmer day. Toilets at the back. There were plenty of locals eating there on the day we visited, a testament to a reliable, consistent place."

Found this little gem after visiting Kinclaven's Bluebell Woods. Had a lovely lunch of homemade steak pie, chips and peas. A hearty serving, hot plates, hot food, good price, friendly staff. What more can you ask for? Will definitely return.

The cafe has been taken over and previous reviews are unfair as the cafe is clean, the staff are very friendly and the food is really good at a fair price. I go every month with another 9 people for a catch up and there is no pressure to hurry and eat your food. First class

Stopped off for lunch today and it was excellent. I had gluten free macaroni cheese, such a rare treat. Husband had a full breakfast and the meat was butcher quality, not the cheap supermarket variety. The coffee was excellent and the service was very friendly. Well done The Dome!

This restaurant offers a fantastic all-day breakfast experience where you can customize your plate. The options include high-quality butcher sausages and bacon, eggs cooked to your preference, and tomatoes. Enjoy a side of tea and toast as well. The meal is delicious and reasonably priced. Quirky and quaint coffee shop with a lovely choice of fresh food. I had the chicken and sweetcorn soup and my other half had an all day breakfast. Each of us commenting on the quality of the cooking and most importantly, taste. Great service from the team, an all round joyful experience. Oops, would have added photos, but have cleared my plate!

On the first morning of my retirement, I decided to stop by Blair to buy/write some thank-you cards and ended up having a late breakfast at this charming restaurant. Despite living in the area for almost 18 years, I was surprised that I had never been here before. The front area offers a nice view of the street, and the back has a quaint and unusual domed sitting area. And the haggis was absolutely terrific! Thank you.

I have visited the Dome several times and today I went with my friend and my guide dog puppy in training for coffee and a sweet treat. I had to write this review because I believe I have found the best red velvet cake in Scotland! It was incredibly delicious with perfectly baked layers of cake, a creamy white filling, and just the right amount of light, creamy cream cheese frosting. I am looking forward to going back again soon! Ver carta

After a friend recommended it, we decided to visit this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and welcoming, with a great selection of dishes on the menu. My husband enjoyed his all day breakfast and I loved my steak baguette. The food was well cooked, high quality, and delicious. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed seeing historical photos on the walls. We will definitely be returning and spreading the word about this place. Great job!

Quirky restaurant. Seating is either what look like short old pews arranged as booths in the front near the counter or normal table and chairs in the rear under the dome. They do a good assortment of savoury food and is always tasty and good value. There isn’t a huge choice of cakes and sometimes nothing takes our fancy so that’s good for the waistline. The coffee was fine the first time we went in but the quality can vary. Not sure if it’s different staff making it or if they vary the coffee they use. My partner tried the tea but found it lacked flavour. The inconsistency of the coffee and the rather grumpy lady shouting not to forget one of the items on our check, at either the waitress wh...

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."
