"Fantastic Hidden little gem blink and you'll miss it ....so glad I didn't blink . We decided to have a full breakfast to set us up for the day ....don't be fooled by the little kitchens name ....the potions are massive , to partners delight , the pancakes are delicious , the food was excellent with a polite friendly service , taje away service ....the scones and cakes are so scrumptious we took a take away too Such welcoming friendly staff Harvey being a team player at such a young age lovely little boy . The owner came and had a chat and told us that the sausages are made not brought ...again superb ... Plates left clean The lady who served us went above and beyond with such a friendly personality anyone could get along with .she's a credit to the place . We will definitely go back even though from northants ....it's worth it xx prices are so reasonable. 5* and I've tried many tea room and cafes .... Book up as it gets busy ....that tells you just how good it is....you won't be disappointed"

"Sorry to mark down the score for atmosphere, but unfortunately we were the only ones in the restaurant...Billy Nomates! Anyway, good welcome and friendly service. Our first visit and we were looking forward to the haunch of venison as seen on their website but unfortunately not now available. Went for the Jambalaya and thoroughly enjoyed it, really good wholesome food and plenty of it (could easily be shared for two). It is worth returning for the food, and the good choice of ales, and the Old Black Horse does not deserve to be so quiet on a Saturday night (mind you the weather was atrocious for August). Do go and enjoy the food and if decent weather there is a nice outdoor area at the back."

"I had a wonderful meal here with my family, which included a total of nine people, along with a small child. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived until the end of our meal. The food was served quickly, piping hot, and all at once. The portions were generous and satisfying. We also enjoyed a beautifully presented dessert that was a good size. My partner had the squash pudding, which came with plenty of crispy toppings—definitely not a tiny portion! Overall, it was excellent value for money. I was genuinely impressed and will definitely return."

"Visited early this afternoon for a lunch date with my husband, we were both very impressed with our visit and would return in future. We both had a starter and a main, portion sizes were generous and the food itself was delicious. The pub was very quiet for a Saturday afternoon but it was nice and quiet, although we did feel sorry for the lady behind the bar who was not only serving behind the bar but also taking food orders and waiting on tables she did a fab job despite being swept off her feet. We were going to indulge in a pudding however chose not to as there wasn’t a vegetarian ice cream dessert option (only a rocky road sundae, not veggie), so would love to see a vegetarian ice cream option in the future. Would love to bring our daughter another time to try the kids menu. Looking forward to another visit and would recommend to others for a meal out! Vegetarian options: Plenty of starter and main menu choices for vegetarian I struggled to choose what to have from all the available options! Lots of veggie desserts however would have been nice to see a veggie ice cream sundae on the menu. Parking: Couldn’t find any disabled spaces in the car park but it was luckily really quiet, only about 2/3 more cars in the car park which was lucky.
