"Had a lovely Dinner at the Dutchess over the weekend A lovely welcoming pub, visited many times but never reviewed.. On arrival we were welcomed, shown to our table by well presented and pleasant staff. We sat at our table where orders were taken,...quickly and efficiently but not rushed. Our starters arrived, all plates looked wonderful and tasted it too! Main courses and Desert again, were all splendid! Dishes range from Fish and Chips, to Porks, Steak and Venison with Many dietary requirements considered. We were in a large party, and all meals arrived together, good efforts from all the staff. The entire site is clean and welcoming, a must visit if you’re in the area. We had young children with our party, staff accommodated them just as much as the adults. Thank you to all staff, Superb. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to snap any photos of the delicious food, too busy enjoying it!"

We dined here for Sunday lunch, the service was excellent with friendly staff. We all had roast beef. The beef and the vegetables were very tasty. The drinks were also reasonably priced. I will definitely visit the Duchess again.

We have visited The Duchess twice in last few months and have been impressed. The menu choice is quite small but the food is served hot and perfectly prepared, can’t fault it. Service also efficient and friendly. Currently our favourite restaurant in area.

The pub itself is underwhelming from the outside. This is improved when you get inside and outside for that matter. There are a lot of tables. The menu contains classic quality pub food and is very well executed. I recommend the belly pork. The hosting...was friendly and personable.

So impressed with this lovely pub. Easy to get to if staying at the nearby Travel Lodge take the road behind it rather than going back on to the main road and go to Fenstanton. Parking was easy at the pub. Well run, lovely...attitude, so accommodating, nice food, with food for Vegans etc. Formal dining and outside gazebo and open air seating, nice and relaxed. Wish it was our local, a real find, pubs can be so hit and miss, some so rigid you just want to leave, but not here.

Excellent food all round. Particularly enjoyed the deep fried bree with chill jam.The Roast Beef and Roast lamb dinners were superb quality and very tasty indeed, decent sized portion for those with empty bellies!. The deserts were insanely good too, especially the goeey chocolate brownie...with biscotti ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding which was as light as a feather! top marks to the chef and the very welcoming and friendly restaurant staff. 10/10 all round. Enjoyed it so much I hasve rebooked.

"We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was fine although the serving of sauce was very mean. The clotted cream with it is, in my opinion, the best way to serve this pudding, it 's a relief from all the sweetness. The apple crumble was terrible; it came in a bowl with the custard already in it with the pudding. The apple was sour and the crumble was squidgy stodge. The service was fine although some staff not yet fully professional. We would have expected a welcoming hello and goodbye but that didn 't happen. Our overall feeling was that there was serious penny pinching going on with the mains and desserts but this is a very bad idea when you are judged on your last meal but we do intend to try again because it 's such a wonderful building and we 've had many good experiences in The Pheasant, perhaps before the present owners, we 're not really sure."
