"my elders have just returned from an overnight stay here and they cannot recommend them enough. during the review in the personal were so friendly and accommodating, in the bedroom it was about their expectation. the color, the style, cleanliness and comfort were fantastic, the free, prosseco, the beer, the obst etc. was such a wonderful note. her evening meal comes from the festive menu, she said, it is the best Christmas meal she had in 70 years (that is her age) I would like to say personally: many thanks that they feel completely looked around, great start to Christmas 2017. larraine pat foley"

We went to the pub and found the staff to be very pleasant. The parking was convenient and close by. After returning to our room, we turned on the shower to freshen up.

wow, just wow! amazing ethos behind this place and excellent eating. yes we had a long wait for the food, but the quality of the meal was excellent and worth waiting. we're coming back!

Completely taken aback by how much this place has changed since my last visit. I had the Roasted parsnip risotto with balsamic shallots, green peppercorn cream cheese and spiced almonds and it was absolutely amazing

Gorgeous meal tonight. You have to try the Lancashire Bomber cheese and onion pie! Best meal I have had in a long time. Staff were attentative but not crowding and food was hot and fresh. Could not have asked for more.

Fabulous view from the conservatory area. The food was delicious and a change from the usual pub grub, although that was also on offer. A warm welcome from the staff and a little recipe postcard was a nice touch. Can't wait to return. Ver carta

many thanks for another great meal! my grandmother has completely swallowed the lancashire hot pot and the Christmas Turkey dinner was amazing (wish I could do it well on the day) I could not recommend it any more, in any case there with the best service-performance ratio compared to other pubs/restaurants in the opposite.

had a fantastic silvester meal at eagle and child. it was a 5-course menu and all the courses were absolutely delicious. squid ink risotto with lobster and mango unreal! the chocolate fountain dessert was also very special. very friendly staff, they were very friendly and attentive. we were over in one of the hotel rooms and it was perfect, great facilities and facilities! we'll be back soon. many thanks for a detour

"We recently provided a 5 star review on Trip Advisor, as the food was exceptional!! My wife particularly felt that the fish was the best she’d ever had. Due to this, we returned yesterday, where my wife again ordered the fish. What’s happened??? Different chef maybe??? She could have got a nicer fish from a back street chippy. It also said that it came with chunky chips, but this time it came with soggy wedges. Even the mushy peas were tasteless!!! What’s happened?"

"The second visit to Levanter. Pretty bad experience the first time a couple of years back where we found ourselves to be the only people in there one evening and had the waiters stood around impatiently wanting us to hurry and finish so they could close. Levanter seems to have a lot of hype around it, hence we gave it another chance (maybe it was just a one-off... er, no). We genuinely can't understand why the place is bigged up so much. We love Spanish tapas, which is why we tried it in the first place so we kind of knew what kind of dishes we would be getting. However, the menu was limited, the food itself, average, at best and the glasses of wine, tiny. The tables are really cramped together so it's far too crowded for a place of its size. I felt for the people who had booked the table right next to the toilet door. Furthermore, bizarrely, the food is carried from the kitchen, down the street and in through the front door. Maybe that's fine if you are sat in a tapas bar on La Rambla in July but not so much when it's a freezing January night with intermittent rain or hailstone. Price-wise, it wasn't too pricey but that would have only added insult to injury had the prices been sky-high. The young lady who serves us was pleasant but that was probably the best I can say for the place. We won't be giving Levanter a third chance."

"Went to go for food on a mid week evening, was not greeted by anyone. Found a table and when going to the bar to order, was told “we saw you come in and the table you’re sat at is reserved (there was nothing on the table to show it was reserved)” the condescending tone and approach by the young lad slumped behind the till (not even asking what I’d like to drink) was very off-putting when I was simply taking my mother out for dinner. We both agreed we will not be coming to the pack horse again having been coming here for a number of years. Very much negative impression of the team who clearly have no passion for keeping loyal customers. UPDATE Thank you for your reply Pack Horse Owner, it is clear to me that my review was not read properly as nothing related to what day we visited. Either your staff are behaving differently to you than when in front of customers or you’re oblivious to their behaviours. Also, dining in the conservatory was not offered, in fact the staff member behind the bar (sat on a stool) made no effort to even get up to locate a suitable table. The defensive tone of your reply tells me that you don’t see that anything needs improving despite me not being the only reviewer to point out the lack of customer service for the price point of your products/services. Your reply has made it very clear to me that the staff take the lead from the management in this instance."

"I’ve been to Drinc a few times for a coffee but I decided to try the breakfast this time. The poached egg and bacon roll I had was massive and hit the spot. My dad was also impressed with his scrambled eggs on toast; again the portion size was big and he couldn’t finish it. They also have poretti on draught here and the windows open up in the summer to give it a more open plan feel. Definitely worth a visit."
