"The food was really good but the lady with dark hair that served us was truly one of the rudest people I have come across in hospitality. She literally rolled her eyes at me when I asked to amend one of the orders , she had a young guy training with her he was lovely but the way she spoke to him us was appalling. We have had a problem here before with a previous manager and we didn’t go back for a year but thought we would try it again, just seems they have swapped one rude manager for another. It’s a shame it’s local and a really nice pub, but when I go out and pay good money for food, drinks and service I don’t expect to be made to feel uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to get out of there, like I say the food is good but why the staff keep reminding you the kitchen is closing (same last year) is beyond me?"

Great place for a get together for Sunday lunch. Food very nice. Staff very attentive. Parking a tad tight.

This was the best BLT I had in England super fresh and tasty. The food was fabulous and the service awesome. We will go a long way out of our way to go back when we can.

A bit mixed. Lunch time pint one day was excellent despite the cold weather. Next day the pint was as good but sat inside and a couple of locals were too loud and the language left a lot to be desired. Ver carta

First time visit since the refurbishment and change of owner. Sunday lunch was excellent and being local we will return and recommend it to our holiday lodge guests. We have revisited and were not disappointed. Service and food was excellent.

The rooms at this pub are very nice. We stayed for the Gloucester Vintage Steam Rally and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the better full English breakfasts I've had in a long while and the size was generous. I would happily stay again.

We were staying at the water park and so came here for our last night’s meal. Although most of us enjoyed our food, we had a vegetarian with us and were very disappointed that there was only one option for them. The portion size and choice wasn’t that great for a 22 year old male and we had to spend another £7 on chips to bulk it out. Ver carta

Can't comment on the rooms, as we didn't stay. But I'm sure their lovely. So after a bit of a mix up with our booking, the rest of the evening was great. Party of 9 of us had a fab meal here last night. Great pub, great location, fabulous food. Service was outstanding and friendly. Very clean and cosy restaurant. Would thoroughly recommend and return.

I visited this pub/restaurant with 10 friends. It is a very quaint, cosy country pub with a high standard restaurant. We had a variety of lunches which in the main was enjoyed by all. The only complaint I heard was about the Lemon Tart as apparently the pastry was a bit soggy and the filling wasn't very lemony. The 3-courses I had were very tasty albeit a bit pricey. The staff were very friendly, polite, helpful and professional

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
