We took advantage of the 2 meals offer. We didn't expect much but were blown away with the quality and generous portions. Love to go back to Leeds just for the food. Good service too. very pleasant and welcoming.

Very friendly, down-to-earth hosts! Fantastic, tasty food and plenty of it!A 'proper pub ' with a warm atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone either living nearby or passing through.Thoroughly enjoyable, thank you very much!

Tried this resteraunt after a family friend recommended it and I was not to be disappointed, Julie and Andy (the chef) were perfect hosts, the food was some of the best I have tasted outside the city center and I definafley recommend the pulled pork burger and fries, bit out of the way but definitely not to be disappointed. decided to have a visit having been shopping near by the pub was clean staff friendly the food tasty and plenty full we later found out in conversation that the publicans were infact leaving to take up a tenancy in cape verde at end of March luckily for us we timed it right to be one of the last customers to have eaten here .

I was told to pay this pub a visit and have something to eat looking at the menu I couldn't decide everything sounded lovely I eventually chose the Italian pasta soup , then the rump steak my husband chose the garlic mushrooms and steak pie,everything was delicious very good portions great service, we will be back to try the new menu

called in for a pint after work what a big attitude landlady has rude unprofessional don't smile no manners no please or thank you infact it looked as though she were chewing on a wasp bar staff well much to be desired for miserable people all in all stay away absolute disgrace toilets stink and dirty landlady is very intimidating to be blunt give your custom to prospect much better place. Visited here today with my friend after reading good reviews and passing it almost every day! It was quite quiet so we went in and immediately ordered to cokes and sat at a table in the corner. We both decided what we wanted and I had the steak pie with chips and my friend had the lasagna- they were both amazing! I can't believe the food is so good at such a good price, the staff were really friendly too! Will definitely be returning :

I live locally and have tried the engine in the past. After reading reviews here I thought we would give it a try on a Friday night. We had the trio of sliders and with 2 for 1 a total food cost of £7.50 for both of us felt like we were robbing them. The burgers were amazing and they come with huge fries and a lovely balsamic dressed salad. Completely delicious and I can't believe that it wasn't busier.Will defiantly go back.One suggestion would be to replace the stools with chairs.Service was exceptional and couldn't ask for more.

Family day out and deciding to stop off for lunch!!! We pulled in at the engine and got seated straight away near the open fire. The pub it self is immaculately clean, the staff can't do enough for you and very family friendly !!!Now the food ... It's amazing the chef him self came out to see if we had enjoyed our food , by the looks of our plates he could tell we had lol I had the surf n turf which was massive fresh king prawns in garlic delicious... My partner had the gelapeno burger which also wis big, fresh and also tasted amazing on a fresh brioch bun ... All I can say is go and find out your selfs you will not be disappointed xxx Ver carta
