Stopped here for a brunch on a lazy Saturday morning. Nice atmosphere, tasty food, and attentive service. Will deifnitely come back.

New menu was disappointing. Under-cooked cauliflower and overcooked rare steak. Young staff polite and efficient but lacking in experience. Ver carta

Visited for a spur-of-the-moment weekday lunch. Driven past many times, and now wish I'd been in before. Great food, attentive staff, a nice range of drinks. Will visit again.

I was disappointed that I did not receive a response to my two emails inquiring about booking for the locals evening at this restaurant. I even checked my junk emails. When I went for a drink, I found the atmosphere to be very bare and lacking warmth.

I had a great time at The Exchequer. I made a last-minute reservation for a small group, then quickly added more people to the party, which was handled efficiently through the online booking email. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I will definitely return. Ver carta

this visit found a bit mixed flatbread dipping starter was excellent, but the smoked salmon and economical starter was small more a canapés and the economical was tired. Pie mains were very good as the fish. it was a Saturday and with only 3. personal it was very busy. our appetizer drinks were not deleted. we didn't like to see a TV show all night. so while eating in the main was good, the total experience did not fit it

I had an amazing lunch at this restaurant today. The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We opted for the set menu which offered a great variety of choices. My father has limited use of his left hand, and the chef, upon the waitress's recommendation, graciously removed the mussels from their shells so he could still enjoy his favourite dish. That level of service is truly exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately since it's renovation and new management The Exchequer has massively gone downhill. Our visit was for a family meal on Saturday night, we were welcomed and shown to our table and then things slowed down, the restaurant was full but only two waitresses on duty who received next to no help from their management, the two waitresses were pleasant but simply over worked. The food showed signs it could be good but where the staffing levels were not adequate for the number of customers food came out slowly and warm at best. Basics such as clearing the previous courses plates and providing cutlery for the next course didn't happen. It appeared that the food was sitting on the pass wait... Ver carta
