"Three of us dropped in here for lunch as we happened to be passing and throughly enjoyed it. A young lady greeted us and offered a table in or out (we chose out) and explained how the table service worked via the app. We ordered...some drinks which came very quickly but we couldn't work out how to order food. As it happens they'd decided to turn off the app as they were swamped but hadn't told the staff. No problem though, the order was taken the traditional way and in next to no time we had tuna sandwiches with salad, fish goujons and a cheese panini melt in front of us. All fresh, all plates cleared with no complaints. All together it came to just over for lunch, including a drink each. My son also had ice cream and a fruit shoot included in his meal deal which at was a bargain. Lovely food, pleasant staff and a nice way to spend a couple of hours in the sunshine. We'll be back."

The food was great and the staff made us feel welcome. They do have a good range of food and drinks for sale. They also do live music afternoons and nights at a good price.

Staff are moody, unpleasant, only care about taking your money and dont care about the quality of your food. I got shouted at because i asked to take my food home in a take out box, also got abuse for saying the chicken was uncooked....Prices are also through the roof, i payed for chicken strips that were uncooked. We stopped here for lunch on way to Wrightingtin Hospital. First of all wonderful rural location, with plenty of outdoor seating. Really friendly and warm greeting, and we we really well looked after by our server. The food was great I had a...burger and chips which was great and had tons of chips which even defeated me. The homemade soup was excellent, as were the steak sandwiches. The whole experience was so good, and we'd definitely have lunch here again next time we're in the area.

We had such a fantastic day! We’d been waiting for a family get together for nearly two years and The Farmer’s Arms certainly provided the perfect atmosphere. Every single person complimented the food. We had a warm selection of food which was really tasty and...freshly prepared. Also, the portion size was ample. To finish the meal, we ordered desserts which went down a treat! The function room is beautiful and the staff really can’t do enough for you. I would definitely recommend this venue for a special family day. Thank you to everyone who contributed to my little boy’s special day xx

"This is a review based only on take away food and from over take aways, so not a one off. One of the biggest surprises to us was the variation in quality from one week to the next. An example of this is that...a Tandoori mixed grill one week was so good, my partner had it again the next week, second time it was almost covered in a slimy coating and not at all pleasant. This also happened with a lamb Rogan josh, top quality one week, a few weeks later it tasted more like a pudding (more of this later). The quality of the meat, be it chicken, lamb or prawn has been generally absolutely top quality, large tasty pieces of meat, larger pieces than most other takeaways and good quality too. The side dishes have been generally good to. Price wise Holdi is expensive, there is no question about this and when the food is good quality I do not mind paying for it, the inconsistency we have encountered doesn’t warrant these prices to be honest. However, the biggest issue we have with Holdi is sweet curries, so often we have all of us) said this tastes sweet try it yourselves. It’s sweet to a point that it becomes a bit weird and not what you want from a curry. In addition to this have a look at the menu, about times it must say a sweet dish! We have avoided these and still received a sweet dish, the last one a sweet chicken jalfrezi…? Finally, when its around for a takeaway, chuck in a few poppadoms most other restaurants and takeaways do, it is a nice gesture."
