"Anyone heading to Cadover Bridge from Plympton have probably passed this many times and said We need to go there . That included us. So today we visited for breakfast. Now if you are a eatery snob stop reading now. This is not the Ritz but instead a rural, true to itself farm cafe that is honest. The staff are brilliant. Only two lovely ladies were there and they were really friendly and went out of thier way to make our visit perfect. There is an excellent choice on the menu, the prices are very cheap and the portion sizes were really good. Outside there are animals you can interact with, which our young daughter and her friend loved, and the location is lovely. We will definitely be back for the service and the food. This a real gem and a must visit location, but only if you are open minded and understand that it is a farm."

Stopped in here today for the festive baguette as it had been advertised on the Facebook page. Yes the place looks a little shabby chic but you cannot fault the warm welcome and excellent food and drink. Great location if you fancy a walk on the moors and dogs allowed.

We decided to visit the farmyard cafe for a late breakfast after seeing it mentioned on Facebook a couple of times. We weren’t disappointed, the staff are all very friendly and welcomed us like we were regulars. The food is good too and I think the dog enjoyed her complimentary sausage.

Big thanks to the Farmyard Cafe for accommodating our family of 24 this morning. It was no trouble to book and the tables were all decorated for us. We all enjoyed our breakfast. All freshly prepared and didn’t take long at all. It was the first time for some of the family and we’ll all definitely be back again. Merry Christmas xxx

My family and I had a wonderful experience visiting Santa Paws at the restaurant with our new puppy Luna. The Christmas room with Santa and Mrs. Claus was beautiful and they were very welcoming. They had a great connection with our granddaughter Darcy, who typically is shy but really opened up to Santa here. The food also looked delicious, and we will definitely be returning to try it in the future. Ver carta

My daughter and I brought our dogs to visit Santa Claus today and it was fantastic. He showered our dogs with attention, giving them sausages and treats. We then enjoyed a delicious breakfast and a lovely cup of tea. This spot is a must-visit for dog walkers as they really cater to our four-legged friends. Thank you for a wonderful experience today, we will definitely be back on our next dog walk in that area. Michelle, Albert George x

I recently visited the farmyard cafe for high tea with friends and discovered a new tearoom there. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious, and the variety of cakes, including scones with jam and cream, was impressive. We had a choice of tea or coffee served on beautiful bone China plates and cups. The experience was very traditional, fulfilling, and reasonably priced. Sharon, the tearoom's proprietor, was friendly and welcoming, ensuring we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend giving it a try! Great value for the money.

Great for take away on way to from the Moors or good place to sit and have a bite to eat. Friendly and hard working staff. Despite today being very hot ands the cafe busy.we were served a hot meal in 10 mins. Should have taken away a few cakes as we were too full! Toilets and a large car park on site. Loved interacting with the goats and horses that were roaming around the yard.a great place for children to appreciate the animals . here. Have been here several times and never disappoints. Homemade cakes are a good variety and size. Highly recommend this cafe. Ver carta

Today we tried the new afternoon tea experience at Vieras tearoom at the farmyard cafe The tea room was nicely presented with nice China and had a nice cosy atmosphere. The waitress service was excellent with a wide variety of teas and coffees available and regularly topped up. The food all freshly made and homecooked. Today's offerings were egg mayo, cucumber, tuna and ham and mustard finger sandwiches. Fresh home made scone with home made jam and clotted cream and finally just to fill you up completely a mini carrot cake, a mini banana cake, a mini millionaires shortbread and a couple of fresh for the healthy touch. A very nice experience, you should try it!!

It's like a junk yard with old windows, falling to bits shed to welcome you. I appreciate it's a very rustic style but take the stuff to the tip. The high chair and table were filthy. I cleaned them with a wet wipe and it was black. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a long time and the baby change had mould growing on it. The coffee machine was broke so ordered a tea, they charged £2.40 for a tea bag and you have the pleasure of making it yourself. It's not cheap nor clean. I'd suggest a visit from environmental health and a review of the 5 on the hygiene certificate is needed desperately. I let the staff know the high chair and table was disgusting and they said they'd so...

"The positive is that the food is good. But the negative is the service time and the attitude of the staff. We were seated and had our order taken after 20 minutes. A little slow but it was a busy Saturday evening so understandable. Starters came promptly and were eaten. We then got ignored by every passing member of staff for at least 50 minutes. Quite the skill! Once there was a break in our conversation and I realised how long it had been, I stood up to intercept a waitress and asked “are our mains on the way, please?” Our ticket was checked by her at the kitchen hatch and we were told “yes”. At this point our starter plates were cleared after they had sat on the table for at least 35 minutes. Our mains then took another 25 minutes to get to us, so I suspect that being told they were on their way was a lie. To be clear: we were given our mains 1hr 20 mins after placing our order. I complained to a waitress who sent over a manager. The manager asked if we’d had starters (yes, we had) and said that it was our fault our main was so late as we’d had a first course. How insulting!!! Blaming the customer for their bad service. Disgusting. When I said it was still far too long to wait between courses she then changed tack and said the kitchen was “really really busy” well, they weren’t busy cooking our food now were they?! And despite the place being full when we arrived, by this point of the night over half the tables were empty. There were 3 tickets on the pass along with ours and tables were 2 4 people (no large groups) so I feel that was also another lie to get out of it. What a shocking way to treat customers! My advice to you is: if you want your food served in a timely manner, either take the advice of the manager and don’t order a starter, or, be sure to communicate with waitstaff once your first course is finished and ask for your main to be cooked and served promptly. (Note: food also sat under the heat lamps for long lengths of time as staff stood socialising with one another behind the bar rather than serve customers) I hope this advice is of use as I would have appreciated it ahead of my visit! Good luck. [Reading other reviews, ours is not the only experience of slow service and seeing staff chat to one another rather than deal with the customers paying their wages.
