"I recently had the pleasure of trying some of the best and most authentic Indian food in the UK. The staff at this restaurant were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional. In addition to the excellent service and delicious food, it was the little touches that really stood out to me, such as their attention to accessibility, ability to accommodate special requests, complimentary chocolates, and hot napkins. Overall, I must say that this place truly deserves all the praise it receives. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and was impressed by the wide array of vegetarian options available. Cheers to that!"

This restaurant has the most delicious chicken tikka masala we've ever tasted. The sides were also fantastic. The atmosphere was nice as well.

Couldn't get a table until late in the evening, (our fault should have booked) we opted for a takeaway having been at the rugby all day. Great tasty food and quick service, will book in advance next time we are in Exeter.

The Gandhi serves up superb curries in a clean and inviting environment. The service is prompt and courteous. There are plenty of vegan options and a good selection of drinks including wine, beer and spirits. They accept cash which is very important to me. See you soon!

First time visiting the area, I tried the chicken kasundi which is a first for me as I have never heard of this dish before. Absolutely loved the dish. I don't live around this area otherwise it definitely would be my go to restaurant. Also, the waiters were very friendly and polite even during the busy hours on a Rugby night.

My family and I decided to order an Indian takeaway from Gandhi Indian by the Clock Tower. We were disappointed with our experience, as we spent nearly £100 and found that the portions were smaller and contained less meat than before. Despite Gandhi being our favorite Indian restaurant, we have decided not to return anytime soon.

We went to this restaurant last night and had a great experience. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. A ten percent service charge was added at the end, which was fair considering the good service we received. All of our dishes were perfect and very flavorful. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit - we thought it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. We've also tried Karma in the city, but this restaurant was much better.

During our stay in Exeter for a few nights, we discovered The Gandhi Indian Restaurant conveniently located just across the road from our hotel. After a busy day, we were looking for a nearby dining option and were pleasantly surprised by the nice and tidy atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff were all extremely friendly and polite. We ordered a variety of chicken dishes with rice and Naan bread, one mild and the other spicy, both of which were delicious. For starters, we tried the meat samosas with mint sauce, which was a great choice. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

I had dinner with my friend who lives locally and recommended the restaurant. We were both hugely disappointed with the quality of the food and the hygiene of the dining area. Service was friendly (not sufficiently attentive though and fast but the quality of the main dishes was poor both of us said we could make better ourselves. We are guilty of not complaining at the restaurant and using this platform to vent our dissatisfaction. We could of handled it better but certainly the restaurant was a disappointment. I hope the restaurant owners and staff learn from our review and do better.

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
