The Garden Cafe - Carta

Overall excellent atmosphere, friendly, food excellent and value for money. Omelette was fresh and beautifully cooked.

Had Today Sausages and Mash with Garden Peas and Beef Gravy.........I have had this meal many many times before so its my Favorite.

We stopped by this morning after a long run and were greeted with a lovely, warm welcome. The breakfast was delicious as well. We will definitely be returning! Ver carta

Recently renamed ' Pangbourne 's Cafe , there 's always a friendly welcome at this family run cafe. The coffee is good and if you want a good breakfast this is definitely the place to come in Pangbourne. Highly recommended if you 're in the area.

First time visit. Ordered a breakfast and tea. The tea was weak with little taste, the bacon was over cooked for my liking, the tomato was tasteless, the egg, beans, sausage and toast were fine. The layout is pleasant and the service is ok. I was not feeling great due to a cold, so perhaps my taste buds were off. I will try another time. Ver carta

I have only ever ordered coffee or tea at this cafe because there was no vegan cake available, even though it was advertised on the blackboard outside. This has happened more than once. There doesn't seem to be a vegan menu, and it's unclear whether the soups are vegan or vegetarian. The lady who serves is always friendly. It is odd that someone can drink Costa coffee in the cafe when there is a notice stating that only food and drinks purchased on the premises can be consumed.

Welcoming experience, we were met with a friendly smile and chose the full English breakfast. Pleasantly surprised tea was included! The cafe filled up slowly with regulars whilst we waited, after not too long (but long enough to know the food was freshly prepared) a full plate of superbly cooked food arrived presented perfectly on a very hot plate, followed by granary toast with plenty of butter on it. All the ingredients were of top quality and at one point we wondered if we’d be able to finish it off.. The cafe seemed to have a number of regular customers and today has left us feeling we too will be back on a regular basis. It’s very refreshing to get what you pay for, served in good time...

First thing to say about the Garden Cafe is that it doesn't have a garden. Had a joke with the lady owner about this, which led to some fun chat with her during the time I was there, sat near the counter. It was quiet--just a couple of other old codgers like me in reading their papers, one with the aid of a magnifying glass. I liked the lady owner a lot: she was proud of her cafe--and, to be fair, it lived up to her pride. It was brunchtime, so I had the Berkshire Breakfast, for £10.50, which they serve all day. A great name, by the way--why shouldn't Berkshire (my favourite county after Cornwall) get in on the act of naming breakfasts after itself? Also, I always appreciate the availability... Ver carta
