"Am hoping the owner who kindly replied to my last review reads this. Have been back 3 times. First time was about 20 mins before closing, one member of staff spent their time clearing up, putting away tables and chairs leaving the other member of staff having to take orders, make drinks etc and quite a queue formed. Second visit long queue as the member of staff who was clearing up during last visit, this time was stocking the fridge leaving the other member of staff to do all as above, eventually that member of staff asked for help making the coffees. Brownie very dry. Third visit, queue was out the door, painfully slow service saw our coffees put on side in kitchen as others did member of staff on till not told they were there. People enter by either door and because one has to wait at side of till for coffees and the cold drink cabinet is there, it gets very chaotic. Could not buy an ice cream from inside on this occasion only from ice cream counter but on previous occasion could! why? Don 't usually have cash on me so wouldn 't have been able to purchase one from the 'proper ' counter, as they only take cash. Montpellier park is such a lovely place to go and we enjoy having a coffee there but our recent visits have now put us off using the cafe. To the owner I hope you are not too offended by this, just think a few alterations would improve the cafe."

Very good coffee and cakes and ice cream. Really lovely staff and so friendly, we visit regularly, they don't even have to ask what we would like coffee and cake in the morning, ice cream in the afternoon we are so predictable. A big thank you to you all.

Communication! Arrived in a lovely looking little cafe, ordered breakfast rolls, sat down...about 30 minutes later we were told that they had no hot food as they were waiting for a delivery?!? Coffee was lovely but the lady in charge should have spoke to customers not leaving up to a young girl.

The very best kept secret in Cheltenham. I was there to visit Dr Edward A. Wilson, Antarctic explorer [one of Capt Scott's men] and found the Garden Cafe in the local Parl. Excellent food with a great and wide selection of good quality food. The sandwiches were an art form. Also the tiffin was the best ever. It is worth a visit to Cheltenham just to visit this fine cafe.

Pleasant day spent in Montpellier gardens ; little gem . Visited the cafe to get refreshments. Oh dear what a change ; not very welcoming ; staff rude . Confusing system what door to go in ; where to wait for your coffee ? I see they’ve had a refurbishment since my last visit however I was very disappointed in the set up . Where have all the lovely staff gone ? Sadly I won’t be returning; such a shame.

After taking the grandchildren to Montpellier park play area on such a hot day, we decided to get some refreshments from the cafe opposite. On entering we were met with a pleasent welcome a brilliant smile from a lovely lady that explained the board menu including the range of ice creams available. The cafe looks small from the outside however it reminds me of the Tardis on the inside which has a seating area. It has a lovely warmth to the building. We ordered a flat white, a bottle of water two children 's ice creams that were bubblegum vanilla flavour which got a thumbs up all round from our little experts! The service was a delight. The ice cream recommendations were a hit, the cakes sand...

Just visiting Cheltenham for the day from Bristol we chanced upon lovely Montpelier Gardens. The sun shone. People smiling and happy. Dogs enjoying walks. All very relaxed and pleasant. It was close enough to lunchtime and there was the Garden Cafe. I’m a bit of a fusspot (or is it connoisseur?! of sausage sandwiches/rolls/baps etc. We ordered a couple. They were superb. The meat wasn’t over-seasoned with herbs...regular pork sausage, not Lincoln or Cumberland. Hurray. The lovely roll had been lightly toasted. My husband suggested a tiffin bar which we shared. Wish we’d got a couple! It was rich, velvety and slid down very easily. I’m not really a cake eater either. Friendly staff. We arrive...

"The story: Two weeks prior, peeking through the restaurant window, I was intrigued to see the kitchen artizans hard at work creating sushi platters that looked vibrant but also elegant. On the 14th November at lunchtime, I was looking forward to trying Kibou as Japanese cuisine is one of my favourites. It's very hard to see the same level of unique variety that Kibou has compared to the few Japanese restaurants I am local to. We wanted to try an array of items and the mini seasonal menu had just been released in time for our visit as well. The food: The Jo Moriawase and New Style Sashimi were great introductions to the first impressions of the quality and range of the dishes available as they were the assortment dishes. Our server provided us with guidance on what we should try first on the Jo Moriawase in order to prevent ending up with eating soggy nori which we appreciated. The Black Cod Nigiri is nothing I have ever tried before so this was also an interesting experience for our tastebuds. My dad has a tough palate to appease but to my surprise, he was satisfied with the Spider Roll Temaki and Chashu Ramen (he thought the pork broth could have been less strong but nonetheless still enjoyed, not like the artificial flavourings you get in an instant ramen if you know what I mean). The Chirashizushi was great for me as I love my sashimi. I didn't realise the yellow portions were actually tamago/egg roll until I tasted it. Some sort of gastronomical wizardry? My mum really lavished the Yaki Udon textures, with the udon noodles having the right amount of nudge needed to chew and biting into the nice crispy outer layer of the tofu. My only regret is not having enough room to try the desserts. Overall, a unique adventure for the tastebuds! The price: If you are extremely budget conscious, perhaps I would not be able to recommend Kibou to you. For a family of three, we were about £40-50 per person. As of my visit, the service charge is 10%. Don't get me wrong though, I think the service charge is fair and reasonable because our experience with the staff we talked to and came by our table were lovely. The atmosphere: Family-friendly but also evening bar feel. Sakura Cherry Blossom and other Japanese-related art themes run throughout the restaurant. The service: We didn't have to wait very long to be seated or served. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff did an amazing job with the food. Would I come again?: Yes, as a treat! Plus I want to try the dessert next time! :"
