The Garvald Inn - Carta

We stopped by for a meal after a hike around the nearby fields. Food was first rate and service was excellent. If/when we come by Garvald again we'll make sure to come again.

We popped in here on a quiet weekday after hearing good reports we weren't disappointed! It's a cosy, friendly local with some really nicely prepared presented dishes. We'll be back!

Our week in lockdown was made much better by the two delicious steak and ale pies and two outstanding sticky toffee puddings from The Garvald Inn. The staff were tremendously kind and provided outstanding service. They really impressed us. Thank you!

I have never experienced customer service like that in my life!! Walked in and instantly got spoken to in a very rude manner! To then get shouted at and chased out the bar because my pint was like water and it had a Head on it the size of the land lords (very big)

This charming rural pub offers high-quality pub food, some of the best I've had in a while. It appears to be a family-owned establishment serving freshly cooked meals, with the vegetable sides cooked to perfection with a generous amount of butter and herbs. The beer garden in the back is a lovely place to relax, making it well worth the trip even for those not from the area.

My wife and I spent a weekend in East Lothian at the beginning of September and visited The Garvald Inn twice. On our first visit, we stopped in for a pint after walking from Gifford to Garvald on a Saturday afternoon. We sat in the beer garden for about an hour, enjoying a nice pint of real ale. The next day, we returned for Sunday lunch, which was excellent. We had Tempura Prawns and Soup of the Day for starters, both of which were very enjoyable. For our main course, we both ordered the Sunday Roast, and the beef was fantastic. We had a pleasant conversation with the owners after our meal.
