The food at this restaurant is delicious, but unfortunately, the atmosphere is lacking. The open kitchen with four chefs who are constantly laughing, shouting, and joking around can be distracting and spoils the overall dining experience.

My friends and I had a lovely lunch outside on the patio area at the Gate. The greens and grains salad is very tasty and healthy. Our waitress Gabriela was very attentive to our table, very pleasant and polite which made our lunch very positive as a whole. Will recommend and return! Ver carta

My friends and I went to this restaurant for a pre-Christmas dinner. We enjoyed a delicious burrata and chicken liver pate as starters. I ordered the mushroom risotto for my main course, which was excellent. However, we were disappointed to find out that we had to pay £10 to park our car, as there was no information about this until we were leaving the car park after our meal. This fee seemed excessive and left a negative impression on us.

We enjoyed a wonderful Roast Pork dinner with so many variations of vegetables that were all well cooked tasty. The cheese plate was full varied the ice cream on the affogato was good quality creamy. The staff were friendly, helpful polite not over attentive. I like how the room is set into three areas depending on what kind of mood you were in… cosy, light airy, fun quirky. My only disappointment was that we weren’t offered the full al a carte menu because it was a Sunday night so I didn’t get my ribeye steak I was hoping for, but apart from that minor flaw I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful restaurant.

Go to Google for the real reviews on this poor place. £60 for a god awful afternoon tea that includes stale sandwiches and cheap filing. Absolutely nothing like the advertised material which has brioche rolles, beaguttes. This was a really poor tea. No tarts, éclairs, compote..just some cheap tiny cakes. The restaurant service is as bad as it gets. Plenty of staff but it's like managed by donkeys. How did this take 30 min to come out? I literally could've gone to the local supermarket and bought the ingredients, made it within that time and it wouldve been much higher quality. How they can misadvertise and think close to £60 for an afternoon tea of this quality to beyond embarrassing. It was... Ver carta
