Nice pub with outside seating. Good food and friendly staff.

Had a delicious meal and then enjoyed live music. Very cozy and fun to experience.

We visited for the evening and found this pub to be fabulous. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced; there was also a fantastic range of beers on offer. I’ve rarely been to a pub with staff as friendly and accommodating as here. I recommend it most highly… just watch your head on the low door as you walk in!

We sheltered here from the rain and what a find. The staff were lovely, very friendly. The music was right up my street, in fact I did ask the landlady what playlist she had. We had a couple of pints, and some cheesy chips, bean chilli and Katsu Curry, which was very tasty. The waitress took a liking to our dog, Marley the Leonburger, and kept bringing her treats. Our first impressions was of a nice friendly pub, we called again and paid £16.50 for a housing duck salad most of it was just leaves, one tomato n a bit of cucumber the duck was in a tiny dish in the middle of the plate!! We then decided to call for the quiz they were advertising on Tues nights, when we got there every table was reserved for quiz teams, obviously not keen on visitors joining in, avoided for rest of the hols.

This place is my favourite pub in ilfracombe by far. The staff are amazing, so friendly and accommodating to our children, particularly our daughter who has needs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a fabulous family meal there too, food is cooked fresh and reasonably priced. Perfectly located just off the harbour. Oldest pub in ilfracombe. If walls could tell stories this place would have a few. Lovely pub grub. Can’t wait to return.

We ventured into the pub out of curiosity because of it's age whilst walking down the street. We were not disappointed with the look and the decor. The landlady and landlord were very friendly and even though the landlord was extremely busy, he gave my 6 and 10 year olds plenty of time answering their many questions they had about their pub including about the extra visitors... They were still talking about it a few days afterwards. Oh yes, the drinks we had, including the cider, were excellent. We would have had lunch but we never had time. We will return the next time we are in Ilfracombe. Ver carta
