"Fish batter too oily and soggy, skins of the chips over cooked with the potato hard and uncooked! So they were cooked too quick. The kitchen hygiene was horrid, didn’t looked mopped or swept thoroughly for a long time.. try not to look in the nooks and crannies .. what lies beneath! This used to be my favourite chippy, I drive some distance to get them so what the hell has gone wrong!? When I went to give them my feedback on my disappointment all I got was sorry to hear that.. no actual care in her voice. Won’t ever go back!"

Lovely crispy batter on the fish. The steak and kidney pie had a nice flavour. Chips were good. We've been a few times in the last months and will continue to visit.

Excellent haddock chip lunch for two. Small portion option just right for lunch. Teapot with 2 tea bags and hot water! All for less than £14. Service and cleanliness excellent.

This is our ‘go to’ fish chips. The food is always great and can tell it’s fresh. We usually get a takeout but we look forward to eating in soon as the service is always friendly.

I ordered two portions of chips, two sausages, and a curry sauce for £10.70. Each container had only about nine chips and there was no salt and vinegar. The chippy was absolutely terrible.

Consistent and delicious fish and chips that never disappoint. The batter is perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Pensioner's special offers great value for money. I can't find any faults with this place, it's the best in Brighouse.

We had another fantastic meal today at this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and are always pleased with the service. The owners, Madison and Sam, take great care of us and the staff are all wonderful. We will be returning on Sunday, even though we travel from Pontefract twice a week - it's definitely worth it.

I decided to call in here. On approach, I'm sure I could smell beef dripping, which is always a plus with me because there are few fish shops today that cook in dripping. The fish and chips were fabulous, and the staff were polite. I would certainly call again. My only gripe is the fish is a bit on the thin side. Next time I will dine in.

Myself and 4 friends had the pensioner 3 course lunch for £9.60 on a Thursday. The staff were so attentive and even reminded a friend to dash out into the carpark as she'd forgotten to pay her parking before a parking warden was just about to give her a ticket. So Thanks The haddock was beautiful amazing choice of puddings I had the apple crumble and ice cream yummy.
