"What a fantastic discovery! The campsite recommended this restaurant and we were so impressed that we didn't want to dine anywhere else. If you're looking for a cozy atmosphere with a welcoming staff and a roaring fire, this is the perfect spot. The locals and regulars are friendly and happy to chat with you. The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions of hearty pub fare such as mixed grill, lasagne, roast dinners, fish and chips, burgers, and a tempting dessert menu. The fries are freshly cut, not frozen, and the service is prompt and friendly. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the ingredients."

"Our first time in the restaurant, it was recommended and to be honest it wasn’t what we expected, felt like a sardine very cramped to say the least, staff were ok, ordered lamb tikka masala the wife had chicken tikka with a salad, 4 poppadoms the sauce’s came the onions were just white onions no sign of tomato purée, the meal came the lamb was very chewy and after ten minutes the wife had to ask for her salad because they had forgotten it, I’m afraid it’s first and last time for us.by the way I told the owner of my concerns over the meal ,also when I booked the table I was told cash only no card ."

"Took my children for a day out to mary port and decided to have a meal.. well there is no words to express how delicious it was! The fish just about fitted on the plate! we all had different meals and all get the thumbs up staff are great too lovely warm and friendly place-we will return!"

"We visited recently for Sunday lunch and we were very happy so much so we came again the other evening to enjoy a bar meal however the food quality was poor in comparison to Sunday Lunch.The starters were honestly delicious as expected but when the mains arrived this is when the evening meal became very disappointing.I pretty much left the majority of my meal as did the wife and clearly the staff knew we were not happy as not once did they ask if everything was alright......Simply asking this is basic customer service and can make a huge difference in making the paying customer feel valued.Sadly we won't be back or be able to recommend to others, Such a shame.There's a lot of choice when eating out in Maryport and your lack of customer service is one reason which has simply pushed us to try the other local establishments instead."

"My family arrived at the Wave, and parked in the car park over the road, and we walked through the small path to the side near the drinks machine, where we were shocked by birds trying to attack us from the canopy up above,,my grandchildren...were very frightened, this is where we nearly went home, not just because of the birds,but because of all the bird POO,,it's was disgusting and it looked like it had acumilated over a period of time,,,the drinks machines and windows were covered to we ran to the main doors to find it shattered but still working ,,now I would think these problems to be health and safety issues...Please, please, please Wave staff/manager sort the Poo problem out and smarten your beautiful building up, you have and work in fantastic environment and everyone I talk to says the same.. NOW... My family were very hungry, (that's the reason we didn't go home) The carvary was EXCELLENT,,(except for burnt yorkshire puds, lol truly it was. There was plenty of choice for everyone it was hot and very tasty the little ones liked the fact they could go back for seconds and thirds if they needed to,they didn't, because they were storefed and so was there granda.... ,,,what let the meal down for me was seeing the chef and assistant,, uniforms looked dirty, I know they probably been extremely busy, but please, it made me think what was the kitchen like!!! "
