Popped in for lunch and although not booked they were happy to accommodate us. Staff very friendly. Food lovely. We will certainly be back.

We went here Fri and Sat night after leaving download festival. Had a nightcap. Good service and an excellent range of drinks. Busy spot. Clean interior. Centrally located.

My partner and I went for lunch. He had fish and chips (not greasy at all), and I had the freshest salad with perfectly cooked steak. Both dishes were only £15.00. Thank you! The bartender/server also deserves credit. Ver carta

Visited on a sunny afternoon, really lovely and friendly staff, and great refurbishment... I remember coming here in the 70's when I was a wee lad.. handy for the train as it's just opposite.. nice garden too, total sunspot, will be back again over the summer

Popped in for lunch and the food was excellent. The pub was very busy with lots of reserved tables, which is a good indication of how popular the pub is. We had BLT sandwiches with chips and they were delicious. Other tables were having full meals from fish and chips to steak and every plate went back empty, another good sign. We will return again soon for evening meals, as well as drinks. This pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and a friendly team. It's a real local, comfortable pub.

I ordered the chicken, ham hock and leek pie with mashed potatoes, peas, green beans, and gravy. It was delicious and served piping hot. For dessert, I had apple crumble with custard which was also delicious with a generous amount of both. The woman working behind the bar took our orders for drinks and food and then served us at our table, bringing out the dishes when the kitchen signaled with a doorbell. She was constantly working and hardly took a break the entire time we were there. Overall, I couldn't find any faults with this place. The staff at this restaurant are absolutely amazing. We were refunded for a kids meal that we were accidentally charged for, which we hadn't even noticed. They came over to our table to inform us, which was very honest of them. Chloe, a bar staff member, was lovely and even brought our 4-year-old an ice cream, which made his day. A lady named Val, who was sitting at a nearby table, was also very kind and helped us, even though she wasn't on shift. I will definitely be a returning customer. This is a wonderful and kind place to eat with our little boy. We highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome and great atmosphere.

Been for a meal with friends. Pub is nicely done out, clean and tidy with pleasant staff. Good choice of menu standard pub fare but something to suit everyone. Meal was served in a timely manner and was fine, very fresh cooked chips, nice piece of steak but could have done with being hotter, and as with many pubs was served on a cold plate. Big downside at the time we visited, there was a group of very loud, very foul mouthed men sitting around who should have been put in their place or ejected by the staff but they were not and continued with their disgraceful behaviour despite there being many ladies present. We were able to locate in a different area of the room but being small there was...

Very good experience with an unplanned/on spec visit. The Green Man is one of three establishments that are close to each other on/nearby the canal and walking path at Willington. We had only fancied a drink so we dropped into 'Green Man ' which we had not been into for 'years '! As we relaxed enjoying our drinks (draught beer and a lager), we noticed a 'Meal Deal ' for the day (Burger 2 for 1) so decided eventually to give it a try.. We were pleasantly surprised at the overall table service and also the quality and value for money of the 'Burger meals ' we had ordered. (On review, they do other 'meal deals ' on some other days). Later on that day we mentioned the experience when catching up... Ver carta
