Had our Mini Moon celebration dinner in the pub. I honestly cannot fault any aspect. Warm and cosy, friendly staff and the food was perfect. This pub was the find of our break. Enjoyed a meal there in March2010. The staff were friendly, the beer was good, the food was great a lot of local produce including a locally cured ham in my ham and chips. Colleagues chicken curry had a lot of meat It was nice to see PROPER food in a pub all to often its the same pies, the same frozen chips and the same plastic thin round slices of meat in several pubs When the sun came oiut it was perfect as the pub is situated overlooking the haven.

Food is 5 stars! Delicious, fresh, fantastic presentation, well worth the money! The staff were all very friendly, professional, attentive knew the menu off by heart! I would recommend printing the fish menu, as you have a variety of options, it was hard to remember the description of each dish when the member of staff verbally informed us. The interiors could do with modernising, and you’d really have something special here! Overall fantastic food and service, highly recommend!

Over the winter an annex has been added, to increase the amount of indoor dining space, while retaining some outdoor seating on the annex roof- hence with an improved view! The landlord now has a stake in a local fishing boat, hence the supply of fresh fish is even further enhanced.Particulalry fine on the last visit were razor clams very local, and delightful in a salad with bacon), and fresh squid caught off Lundy). If I was going to pick one hole, I'd say the chips were a bit flaccid , but that doesn't take much away from this being an excellent place to eat.

We ordered at 5.50pm, starters came at 6.20pm and the mains didn't come until 7.05pm. They cleared the table at 7.26pm and gave us the bill, not even offering the option of dessert or coffee. If they have a 2 hour turn around on tables they should be able to deliver in time. Luckily, we had ordered the child's meal for my toddler when we ordered drinks so that came promptly at 6ish.
