"Beer selection excellent, very nice to see this range. Prices are what you would expect for the area, not cheap but not taking the **** either. Staff are excellent, very nice service and pleasant to deal with, and make an effort to serve quickly and acknowledge customers unlike some pubs in the area. Hope they are being paid well and treated nicely as the staff and the beer make this place excellent On to the food the roast was somewhat mixed. Presentation great, the veg was all cooked perfectly. Good portion of everything and parsnip had both the crispy thin flavoursome bits and the soft big bits. Peas and cabbage spot on, roast potatoes bang on as well. Cauliflower just right in having softness and still a tiny bit of bite. The nut roast was delightful and sure to keep any veggie people happy. Carrot perfectly tender too and with a lovely sweetness. The Yorkshire looked like a scorched ufo and upon slicing it sent shards of crispy batter across the table. It was a job to cut and had lots of burnt edges. It was a bit more manageable after soaking in gravy bit still not ideal. I will say the flavour in the batter was lovely but the cooking of it not so much. The cauliflower cheese while cooked nicely, tasted like a white sauce without any cheese or seasoning. No salt, pepper, evidence of cheese by sight or flavour. Cheese must have run out because pictures on other reviews look much better. No excuse for lack of salt and pepper. Feel bad to not give a glowing review on the food as what was nice was absolutely perfect but it fell down badly on a few details. It was like there were 2 chefs in there and one was amazing and the other had come in and messed up a few bits. It would be a ten out of ten roast if the issues were resolved and I hope they will be next time as I will definitely be back. In summary lovely pub worth a visit especially for a beer lover, and you will not leave hungry if you eat there either. I hope they were just having an off day with food as it was so close to being amazing on everything. Staff impeccable. Thank you Harpenden Arms, see you again soon"

This is a great pub with a good selection of drinks. It is crowded and noisy, which creates a lively atmosphere that is perfect for a Friday night. Overall, the experience was excellent.

an excellent night the poor with the carnegie rocks the bar. the arms is led by a friendly professional team that has successfully returned an active living soul to this traditional British pub in recent years.

Great pub, lovely features, very friendly manager and staff. A wide selection of beers and refreshments. A good food menu and a delightful arrangement of tables and chairs. Simply a lovely place to visit, take refreshment and dine.

Best roast in.harpenden. It never disappoints. The cuts of beef are soft and has flavour. The veg the the York pud all amazing and they even have cranberry sauce. Not everyone does. After a late Saturday night this is the perfect pick me up!. With a tropical pale ale it's great

Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome selection of guest ales. Good food with a separate restaurant area. It can get very busy as it's in the centre of harpenden. Toilets were upstairs, not sure about downstairs toilets as didn't see any. Parking is roadside nearby or a short walk away for a carpark. The pub had a great atmosphere.

return 17. okt 21 equal excellent fry £16 choice of bark meat, pork or bun). absolutely beautiful. what makes it even better, this has become a real craft beer pub with many changing wallpapers including 2 tiny rebels sirens. Take a bow! Sunday was an absolute winner. the best for years. with pints of tease oil coupled. very covid conscious beautiful staff. can't judge high enough.

10/10 we went to the stubborn arms to the Father’s Day, a great party of seven people and were so warmly welcomed. the customer service was absolutely fantastic. callum treated us like the royal and in constant communication with the kitchen to ensure that we can enjoy our appetizers and snacks when we are happy. the food was mega. both the kitchen and the front of the house went beyond and beyond and I am so happy that we were all able to enjoy such a fantastic meal. well done that we're back.
