"First time coming here since they revamped it and I left disappointed. The food looks great and the coffee is lovely however the service leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the bruschetta eggs with no avocado as I have a severe intolerance and my partner the breakfast muffin. Both turned up and looked great however mine was served with avocado. Fair enough, mistakes happen. When I tried to catch the attention of a waitress to have it changed it took ages as they were too busy chatting among themselves. When it did come back out, I had eaten half of it before I realised they had just swapped the toast and avocado for a plain piece and put all the eggs and toppings from my previous meal on top. This would have been fine if the base of the eggs hadn't been covered in avocado. As a result, within the hour I was suffering stomach cramps. As they don't take allergies/intolerances seriously I won't be returning. A real shame as I do like the place."

Easily the best brunch in the area with a great menu. You pay a little more but its worth it. Great staff, always helpful and friendly.

We wasn't able to visit due the corona virus, but we ordered takeaway at the weekend. The food was amazing, i had the loaded bruschetta which i would recommend! Will definitely be heading back once the restaurant opens again.

My husband and I just love this place! The food is awesome and such generous portions too. The coffee is great, the staff are attentive, smiley and professional and the restaurant has a great ambience. It's now become our post cycle destination and I dream about the smoothie granola bowl the whole way!

My friend and I visited Roots earlier this week and loved the friendly staff, eat out help out deal and the food (great portion size too . A large menu with lots of choices and definitely the best cafe in the area. The staff went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable (we had a 3 month old baby with us and it was really hot outside! so that was really appreciated. Would recommend! Ver carta

I have been to healthy roots various times since it’s been opened and it is great to see a local independent business doing so well and continuously looking to innovate and develop to suit its customers needs. The food gets better each time but I am a particular fan of the fry up and smoothies. Building off of customer feedback is clearly why this restaurant is still thriving. Great service, great food and a great environment.

We sometimes go here for brunch and it is always really good quality food, nicely presented too. The prices are not cheap but the high quality of food ensures that the price is justified. More frequently we go for morning coffee and this is always up to standard. The inside area is nice, but we prefer to sit outside on the terrace. The tables are socially distanced and regularly wiped down. The staff are always friendly and efficient.

Visited here last Friday as couldn’t get a table at our usual brunch spot! Food was good, by good I mean it was enjoyed but definitely not good enough for the prices charged! £3 for a cup of tea is a lot! Staff aren’t the best, don’t really seem to know what’s going on, and look at you like you’re a bit crazy if you ask for something!? Probably wouldn’t go back but if you’re willing to pay almost £30 for 2 breakfasts then this is your place! Ver carta

I’ve been to healthy roots before and love it everytime. The decor, chilled atmosphere the food are always amazing. However, on Saturday I picked up my first takeaway from there whilst all restaurants have had to shut because of COVID. I was wondering if the food would be as tasty stay warm as it was a takeaway. The food was amazing. We had the hangover muffin and sweet potato hash (my fave) it was warm so so good. Highly recommend this place, it’s filling food that you don’t feel too guilty after!!

Like some of the previous reviews I completely agree that it is over priced £5.20 for two mugs of tea with just tea bags in the mug and no sugar, sweeteners etc. Waited for over 40 minutes for our food order to arrive and gave up and left just paying for the tea. They do state on earlier reply that they learn from reviews but do not seem to have done so yet. We did go there on a recommendation so perhaps they were just having another bad day but I doubt I would return in the future. So sorry as I did have high expectations.

"Visit with friends. Arrived and the restaurant was very empty at that time of the evening. Shown to a table that had been allocated to us. Asked if we could move to another and I was initially given the impression that that might be difficult. Just to say again that the tables were allocated rather than reserved. Another customer was making a similar request and after some back and forth we could both move. Not the greatest of starts. This restaurant specialises in Punjabi cuisine. That is what attracted us in the first place when reviewing the menu online before we booked. Starters were of a generous size but rather stodgy. Perhaps more filling for a starter than you might expect particularly if you had ordered a main course and were intending to have a dessert. In contrast my wives dessert was very small for the price charged. The main courses were very spicy even though we requested mild. I appreciate that is a preference on our parts but my wife felt the same. We went with a friend who was visibly sweating. He comment on his main fish course was that under the spice it was a little bland. A lady I took to be the owner asked if we were enjoying our main couse? We commented on how spicy they were and asked for some yoghurt to cool them down. This was supplied with no issues and in fact my wife's prawns (only three found sadly) and my lamb main course were taken back to the kitchen to have I assume some of the chillies taken out or additional yoghurt added. This was done very politely and efficiently. Just to add we have absolutely no issues with regional food differences whether they may be. Perhaps our preference in this instance for less spice takes away from the experience the restaurant seeks to give. However requesting when ordering a mild version, and when asked what we preferred as well, makes the customer right. To drink. A beer for me and our friend. A cranberry juice for my wife which apparently tasted like a squash. Service left something to be desired as well I am afraid. On our initial table three menus supplied. On the second only one and had to ask for two more. Table wiped down after our main courses but only one corner? Had to ask several times for the bill, having asked the lady above who dealt with the spicy food issues. In fact she was eating her evening meal behind us with other customers and jumped up and apologised when she realised she had not let us have our bill. The waitress who we dealt with initially about our table allocation asked at the end of our meal if we had enjoyed it and if we would return. Afraid we said no to both. We had a mutually respectable conversation as to why not and discussed the issues above and others. So a disappointing evening I am afraid. However this is a true reflection of our experience from our perspectives."
