Generous portion of Sunday roast very happy with the lamb, though the roast pork belly skin could be less tough. The service is great and it was easy to make a table booking on the website.

Pretty overpriced, hence why we only had one pint here. To be honest I expected a wider range of beers for what appears to be such a trendy pub. Nice pub setting and has outdoor seating. They have a limited menu on match days.

the best place in islington for sun roast. we were a party of four. we had different net parts, but everyone has our choices (lamb, old steak, pork.) the yorkshire pudding and sides were delicious, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. a must try!

I was a week in london and have eaten everywhere and that was the best meal I had! the steak and ale pee was the best meal I saw in my LIFE life! and the sticky toffee pudding was dying. that's a must when they're in the opposite. I'm so sad to go tomorrow because I could eat here every day!

This is such a lovely, quiet pub. We came here on the evening of Saturday 30 April 2022 with our large family (which included three young children From the start, we were warmly welcomed and the service throughout the evening was exceptional. There was a good selection of lager and the food, especially the burgers, was delicious. A particular shout-out to the manager, a very kind and bubbly gentleman whose demeanour and presence added much joy to our evening. We will definitely be returning! Ver carta

OK, so the Highbury Barn Tavern is a gay friendly pub with an obviously gay manager who for some unknown reason cannot help himself making homophobic jokes, which are far from funny. Claiming to have a wife somewhere in Russia who no one has ever seen, the implication is that he is straight, where in my opinion that is a far stretch of his imagination, but that's his issue and should be made the problem of his customers.This is a pity, as a gay bar it is a good pick up joint and a little ruined by the behaviour of the manager. The food is alright, if not overpriced and the staff take the lead of the manager's attitude. It's not a place I'll be visiting again in a hurry.

I have visited most pubs in and around n4 n5, but never managed to visit the highbury barn tavern.
