Popular pub in central location. Restaurant was closed when we visited, so we used main bar. Pubby food on offer, which was OK. Good range of draught beer on offer. Service: 4

My partner and I enjoyed the fillet steak and wild mushrooms from the Valentine's menu last night, and it was absolutely flawless. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the steak melted in our mouths; it was incredibly tender. A big thank you to Ivan, the chef who was on duty! We also loved the strawberry cheesecake. We highly recommend dining at The Horse Jockey. Five stars!

Nice to see the reviews of this excellent pub were accurate. We were looking for a pub that serves good food, that is also dog friendly. Whilst touring the area, we visited yesterday with our three dogs and were immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly and helpful barmaid, who even offered our dogs a treat each. The food was excellent, with good portions and fair prices. There was a nice lively atmosphere, with very friendly locals, rare these days to be made to feel so welcome upon a first visit.
