My daughter in law and grandson had a wonderful lunchtime meal. The oak smoked salmon salad was amazing. Definatelly go back.

Food service is slow and food isn’t great. Could do better with a better attitude and friendliness towards customers. Felt unwelcome

Stopped here on a saturday afternoon for a few drinks and some food. Food was really good great size portions and the staff were happy to banter, and attentive just how a great British pub should be!! Well done! Ver carta

Stopped for a beer in the sunshine! Very friendly staff, casual, relaxed. Good selection of lagers available on draft. Table next to us had food which looked amazing and there were no left overs so must have been good

Had Mothers' Day lunch here with my mum. The roasts were absolutely amazing great portion sizes, loads of gravy and everything was cooked well. The Biscoff cheesecake was to die for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere too nicely busy, without being absolutely packed in. Our food arrived pretty quickly. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

I booked a table here on a recommendation. But very disappointed. Food nothing special not good value for money .I was not aware the pub had been taken over in December .I looked on Web site to see the food they did not have any of what I wanted on there menu apparently the site still has old menus from previous owners very disappointed will not return .they need to update web site to let people know Ver carta

We went to the Bear for a Mother's Day treat for my lovely Mum whom is 90 yrs young,somehow when I called to book the table it wasn't written down when we arrived they didn't have a table for the five of us,but the manager was so good quickly managed to sort a table out for us without to much trouble, the meal was outstanding, so delicious,the staff were busy but attentive,my Mum had a wonderful time, we would definitely recommend go back there again

The UK sucks for service in bars, restaurants and even basic shops these days in general however, The bear has a good team of staff and in particular a gentleman working there who has been there for a good few years and he has single handedly restored my faith in the UK service sector. His name is Terry and if he’s working in your establishment rest assured that your facility is in good hands. He is super kind, extremely professional and an absolute top notch outstanding guy. The Bears food is also sublime, the chef must also be a legend of sorts. Burgers are top top quality! All the staff are always really friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend to anyone hungry or gasping!

Went there yesterday and found the experience a rushed. We were harassed into ordering with no time to look at the drinks menu to decide what we wanted. Then a waitress came over and mumbled something to us, the only thing we heard was, ‘do you want another drink?’. We decided to ordered another drink which seem to annoy the waitress as we were both still trying to work out want it was all about. The drinks arrived, after 5 mins or so to our disbelief the bill arrived. We thought maybe it was closing time but it was only 9:22! Nether less we carrying on with our drinks, only to find the staff packing away! In conclusion it was not a relaxing experience and will not want to come back because... Ver carta
