"Every year our walking club has its end of season meal here. It's a first class place with excellent service, beautiful food and, very, efficient and pleasant staff. The most important thing though: without somewhere to park our coach, we wouldn't be there, in the first place! Suffice to say, there IS parking! The food at this restaurant is fantastic, simple, and traditional. The staff are friendly, and it's a great place to go for a Sunday roast. The price per person is £60–70, and the food, service, and atmosphere all receive top marks. Ver carta

Clean and well-presented dining area that was quite quiet for a Friday evening. Nice food, cooked well. The steak of the mixed grill was a little gristly in places, the rest was excellent. Been here a few years ago every time we passed it the car park was full so we went at 12 00 and got a seat on Halloween food was excellent and the staff very good will obviously go back again Parking: Lots of room and it's good after 12 00 but gets busy later Price per person: £30–40 Recommended dishes: Steak and Ale Pie, Custard Parking space: Plenty of parking

"If you 're into the whole busy, family beach visit then this place is for you. They 've recently added a Greggs and Co-op around the other side of where the chippy is (behind it). As well as a quaint little cafe on the corner. You can 't miss it, it 's as you drive into the car park, on the right side. There 's a free park for the kids, a nice green for the dogs to run around, with seating placed around the edges and near the long (life guards) building, it 's the one with the taller part of the building towards the seafront. The beach is pretty much always kept clean as well as the hard paved concrete walking area alongside it. You also get a great view out to sea, minus the few wind turbines. Dogs are allowed around the area and there 's even a mobile, self service dog wash to get all that sand off before getting back into the car. There 's plenty of accessible parking too, just as you enter the car park, located right next to the cafe. There are also public toilets located in the 'long building ' on the opposite side of the cafe chippy. As if you 're walking towards the sea. Pretty sure there 's a small charge to use them. The chip shop service is good, but it can get really busy, so be prepared to wait. The food is 'alright '. It 's not the best chippy and the prices just seem to be forever climbing, but it 's okay. If you want cheaper cans bottles of pop, I 'd suggest using the co-op. There 's also an ice cream van that usually parks up near the accessible parking area. "Dog friendly (in the bar) always feels weird walking into a pub with a pup to ask (please put it in your description, and a note on your door). Food was amazing and staff friendly to both me, mum, and the pup even with a friendly woof contest between him and another pup. We'll definitely be visiting next time I'm up in the north east. "Yes our daughter was 10 minutes late. But booking a table at 12pm we didn't expect our food to arrive till 1.10pm. The beef was so tough we really needed steak knives. Overall very poor. "Under new-new management, and re-opened! Looks great after the refit and back to the warmer feel it once had. The new staff can be slow but are friendly and mean well. Now the 'new pub ' buzz has died down there seem to be less desirable (and often suspiciously young) customers creeping back in to spoil the friendly vibes. Manager needs to take a firmer grip. Nice to see it back and doing so well, one of the better pubs in Killi."

"My family and I visited Mandarin Bay on Sunday night. Unbeknownst to us there was an all you can eat menu available, which we chose. The starters were either self service or served directly from the kitchen. This meant the soups and crispy wantons from the kitchen were fresh and piping hot. There was a very good main course menu and the service was extremely efficient. I did find the black bean sauce was too salty and the lemon chicken was served with the sauce poured over the chicken instead of on the side but overall it was delicious. We will definitely be going there again."
