Fantastic pub. Eat excellent and so nice, friendly staff. If recommended, no delay. Outside area is also beautiful.

4 of us had 3 courses and drinks. All different decisions and everything was excellent quality, delicious and hot. I'm sorry we had to go before the end of the conversation.

beautiful friendly pub near alton waters campsite. dog-friendly and with decent burgers and wein a little expensive for pub grub but beautiful gardens and employees make themselves for it.

Beautiful surroundings, dogs allowed that is a great bonus for us, staff was super friendly. Food fabulous, but the house made Curry was very hot and a little warning would have been great I like spicy food). Desserts were delish. Will be back

Lovely charming pub, lots of old character, very welcoming staff. Only popped in for a quick drink, but will be back to sample food another day...the plates of food looked amazing as they were whisked past us to others. However, we had already eaten on this day. Will be back. Highly recommend.

Lovely staff, nice beers and dogs welcome which helps when your staying on Alton Water campsite with the dog. Food is of the boil in the bag or frozen variety for the majority and at best is overpriced Wetherspoons quality. Beer garden and inside of pub is lovely and well worth a visit for a drink. Don’t expect much from the food though it could be much much better and the place deserves it.

I had the greatest pleasure to eat here today and meet the fabulous trevor elaine (landlords) and other fabulous employees who took care of our needs. my man plays here weekly darts and always says so wonderful things. the pub is so well designed with a beautiful, cozy feeling and eating is exceptional (danke lee) they must see the garden, its amazing! I can't wait to come back. thanks to all

The place? Nice old pub in the country side. Very busy around lunch time on a Sunday as you can imagine. People? Although we found a table, 5 of us, the man behind the bar said they only served food if booked! Fair enough, but there were no apologies, he made me feel unwelcome. Thing is we were happy to wait even 1 hr for our food to be cooked, if the man would have been open minded. Not good for their business, definitely no return for me.

Been couple of times now, first time would have given 10stars, very welcoming and food was great. However, subsequent visit was definitely not. Made to feel unwelcome and a nuisance when said wanted to eat. Comment loud enough for us to hear was, why do these people come late and expect us to feed them. Website says kitchen open til 8, we were well before that! Food was ok this time but not as good as first visit Very disappointed as thought we had found a good go to eatery, even though bit of a journey, but will not be too eager to return now. Local customers were welcoming, shame staff not quite so much
