"The lunch menu is quite nice, and the atmosphere is stylish, making it a great choice if you're looking for an enjoyable dining experience. "Very disappointed with the service for our meal tonight at The Crown hotel stornoway. We sat for an hour waiting for our main course and had to ask if our food was coming as other tables with more people at them had come in ordered and meal was servedwe also sat looking at empty glasses for half an hour and still not one staff member came near our table until I called one over. It is not front of house that take so long to serve but would have been nice for at least one staff member to come and let us know what was going on and or even offer a drink!! Steven did say when paying the bill about the wait and they just said they only had 2 chefs on not an apology a discount or even a drink knocked off the bill for the wait. Safe to say we will not rush back and would not recommend anyone to go for a meal any time soon. Feel for the young girls that are serving as they can not have been trained on service. All it would have taken is to ask if we were ok, did we want anything to drink while we waited for our meal and let us know the meal was going to take so long. It was only fish and chips and a fajita nothing fancy."

"Before going to this restaurant, I read other reviews and was greeted by a grumpy elderly gentleman at the front of house who didn't make us feel welcome. He showed us to a table almost reluctantly, giving the impression that he would rather be doing takeout orders. Despite feeling tempted to leave, it was my wife's birthday and we decided to stay. Fortunately, the food turned out to be exceptional and made up for the lack of hospitality and poor service. Without the delicious food, I would have given this place one star. The quality of the food deserves five stars. It wasn't a pleasant experience to feel unwelcome in a hospitality setting, and I wonder how long this restaurant will stay open with such bad staff. However, the elder gentleman did pack up my wife's leftovers for us to take home, which was a nice gesture. I recommend using this place for takeout, as the food is excellent. If you do dine in, just ignore the grumpy elder staff member who detracts from the amazing food. There's no excuse for such poor service."

"I had paid for food and was sat in their waiting around 5 minutes and when it was ready the man working there wouldn't give me it until a colleague confirmed it was mine and I had paid when I ordered and he already saw me come in before the 1 person that was waiting, he never even made eye contact with me. Obviously thought I would steal someone's lunch based on the way I looked. I will never go back. Burger was dry. Service: Take out"
