This meal was enjoyed by a group of friends who don't get together often, but had a fantastic time at a fantastic restaurant. There was no rush and the service was outstanding.

Have eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. As a veggie I sometimes struggle to get nice meals that aren't just lasagne or risotto. Good value for money and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be eating here again.

very slow service, we did not get anything to eat for an hour and had to go to the bar to get coffees at the end of the meal. this was a great lunch venue until changing hands, used to have two courses for a good price, now the choice is sandwiches or a la carte main menu so expensive for lunch. Very disappointed

The Lion has been taken over by new owners who are not yet connected to Open Table. I only found out about this when I called to confirm our reservation, which would not have been recognized otherwise. Additionally, I learned that the restaurant is scheduled to undergo renovations in early February, so I have decided to wait to visit until after the refurbishment.

Second visit and still happy with the overall package. If I was looking to give some constructive criticism I’d say that the food could have used a little more seasoning, particularly the game pie, but it was well cooked and we enjoyed it. The only real issue we had was the temperature in the extension. It was very cold outside and the cool air was getting in somewhere despite the rest of the pub being very cosy. We do, however, enjoy the Lion and will be back. The service is always good and nobody is too pushy which is very welcome. Thanks again for a nice visit.

I had a disappointing experience at The Lion in Wendlebury. After a day of exploring Blenheim Palace, my family and I decided to have a late lunch at the restaurant. We arrived around 7:30, hoping to enjoy some starters. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by rude and unprofessional service. The restaurant was not busy, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and rushed. One staff member was particularly disrespectful towards a female bartender, making offensive remarks about her gender. Overall, I would not recommend dining at The Lion and suggest finding another restaurant with better service.
