"We have been coming here for drinks and casual meals for 20 years, on and off. In that time it has ranged from the best run pub in Berkshire to dreadful. The current incarnation is …well…not the worst. Thats the best I can say, really. Since the latest landlord moved in there hasn’t been so much as a lick of paint and it is sorely needed, esp in the ladies loos. There doesnt seem to be much pride in the place, tables uncleared, cushions unplumped from the night before, toilet roll trailing around the loos, even just after opening. Get some decent cleaners. But my biggest gripe is, there are just NO bar snacks. Nothing whatsoever. How can you call yourself a pub, how can you sell alcohol with nothing to eat? Yes I know there is a restaurant attached but if I just want a pint or an (excellent, by the way) gin and tonic? Are we supposed to bring our own peanuts?"

Great food and atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and good fun. Good to see the new management making some positive changes, it's a bit punchy on the price side but overall a gods night out.

Charming place with very pleasant staff. The food was very good, except for the Welsh Rarebit, which was basically a piece of soggy toast with cheese on top. Excellent pulled pork, corn ribs and fish. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon in idyllic surroundings.

The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and was very welcoming when we arrived. The staff were attentive and the French manager was especially skilled at taking care of the guests. The food was delicious and plentiful, with the fishcake starter being a standout dish, even for someone who typically doesn't enjoy fish. Overall, a great experience with top-notch service and tasty food.

I had an incredibly tasty lunch today. Every bite, from the complimentary homemade soda bread and whipped butter, to the delicious main courses and coffee, was fantastic. The service provided by Alex and the rest of the front of house team was outstanding – they were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant soon, before it becomes too popular and crowded.

I returned to the Little Angel with high expectations after having an excellent meal and service a few months ago. However, I was left disappointed this time as the food was very underwhelming. The chips were too salty to eat and we had to return two desserts. The wine was simply placed on the table for us to open and pour ourselves. We had to repeatedly get up to find the staff to order drinks and to remind them about our food. The food also took a long time to arrive. Come on, Little Angel! You can do better than this!

"We usually love coming to Cafe Rouge in Henley, always a treat for us and we are always looking forward to it. However the most recent visit was awful and it’s been going downhill over our last coupes of visits. We booked a table for my father in laws birthday. Upon being seated, we were informed that 3 of the main course dishes were unavailable.. pretty much half of the ‘mains’ options. We don’t come to Cafe Rouge for Burgers or salad! We opted for 3 portions of Mussels as had them here before and they’re very good! Mother in law just had pate as there was nothing else she wanted. These were possibly the worst mussels we’ve ever had. You could tell they weren’t fresh (cooked from frozen for sure) and there was barely any sauce in the pot! Usually they are flavourful and abundant in sauce! No check back was performed by the manager on duty..it was a quiet Monday so wasn’t exactly run off his feet. So we couldn’t alert him. Even upon clearing we weren’t ask how our meal was! Just asked if we had finished. We decided to mention they were awful to which the manager told us he would inform the kitchen. When he came back to finish clearing, my partner asked if they were frozen or fresh mussels, to which the manager replied yes, they are frozen. Wasn’t expecting that but you could totally tell! They tasted like cardboard! We had a coffee and a pudding and to be fair to the manager he didn’t charge us for one portion of mussels and the coffees we ordered. The Bill was certainly not worth what we had. Didn’t leave a tip, which we never normally do, but the service was non existent. Manager was more interested in what was on his phone. Won’t be rushing back"
