Nice room but cold, no way to put heating on. Wedding first night, party second night we barely got any sleep due to the noise from both venues. We were not told about this when booking the rooms, there should be a warning to people there may be some noise so you can make the choice to book or not. I would not recommend if you want a peaceful stay. Very disappointed, certainly not good value for price paid. Rooms: 3

We visited for a festive afternoon tea, and it was absolutely delightful. The experience included traditional sandwiches, a festive prawn cocktail, and turkey served with stuffing and cranberry sauce. The scone, paired with jam and clotted cream, was delicious, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bonus items of roast potatoes and pigs in blankets with the most flavorful gravy. To top it all off, we enjoyed a glass of mulled wine, making for a wonderful afternoon treat. We even brought some leftovers home with us; it was definitely worth the money!

I booked table for 4 on 27th November for 16th December arrived to be told we had to pre book the Xmas 2 or 3 course menu I felt i should have been asked when I booked the table we had the burgers which wasn't very seasonal but delicious it was very cold in restaurant we wer the only people in most of the night we move into the lounge ordered coffee to warm up then the fire was switched off with the pumps on bar so we felt it was time to go it was only 20-30pm the 2staff were friendly polite but we all felt our evening which we had been looking forward to was spoilt with no Xmas meal it being so cold we are all local people but won't be rushing back. My main issue was with New Year's Eve. We didn’t want a buffet since we were going out for lunch, and a disco would have been too loud for the dogs. Additionally, we didn’t want to pay £25 for an entry ticket without knowing what we were getting. When we booked in September, we were informed there were no arrangements made for NYE, but you promised to notify us if plans changed. I asked if we could buy a drink and take it to the snug but was initially told no. After the staff spoke with the manager, we were told we could purchase a drink and take it back to the snug if we paid £8 each for a ticket. I found this quite disappointing. This is a very beautiful old building. The car park is a little tricky with the very tight walls in between the two car parks that it has how large vehicles get through without scraping the walls I don 't know. I didn 't like that very much, I found the young lady serving on the evening of a party I was invited too, quite abrupt. I only take cash out with me. Once I 'd ordered our two drinks, I was told she can 't take cash.. it was card only. No explanation just Kept asking if I had a card. Three times I told her I didn 't.. so the drinks stayed there for a few minutes until some someone in the queue that had formed suggested a tab Apparently, I later on heard she had no float in the till.....

While we did hear some noise from neighboring rooms, we were aware of this possibility from other reviews and brought earplugs, which worked well as we heard nothing after 10:30 PM. On our first night, we dined in the restaurant, which offered a bar menu, special offers, and an à la carte menu. They had numerous promotions, and we enjoyed two delicious burgers for just £20, providing excellent value for money. The drinks at the bar were reasonably priced as well. The bar itself was very cozy, complete with a lovely fire, making it a nice spot to enjoy dessert. Breakfast featured a continental spread, with cooked options available for £10 per person.
