The Market House Inn

tried the market house for the first time yesterday - beautiful place great service and excellent eating - the doom bar ale was also on the spot! we will soon return to glastonbury on our next trip

I booked a room here, it's really great. a beautiful spacious room, with a great view of the abtei and glastonbury tor. julie wants are really amazing people. they are very friendly. they will feel welcome immediately.

Overcharged for 4 drinks by bar staff , rectified but not in a friendly way..... rude! Then given wrong drink to which the bar staff jyst shrugged like it was our problem? Price per person: £1–10 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We stayed for one night, and the bed was comfortable. The decor was soothing, and we enjoyed a lovely view of the Tor. The staff were laid-back and friendly, and the food was outstanding. For my meal, I ordered three small vegetarian plates for under £9, and it was more than enough to satisfy me. Breakfast, which was included with our stay, was delicious and substantial. As for parking, we initially paid around £6 to park in a nearby lot overnight, but later discovered that the pub has a small car park located behind the beer garden.

The room was pleasant, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was spacious, and the towels were quite large. They provided tea, coffee, and biscuits, but unfortunately, there were no cups available, so I couldn’t enjoy a hot drink. I could have gone downstairs to ask for one, but I had already changed and showered. The breakfast was delightful and plentiful, offering a variety of hot options along with cereal. I would definitely stay here again. As for parking, the entrance to the car park was located at the back and could be difficult to locate without proper directions.

Tuesday 24th. We waited for approximately 50 minutes for our order, which included a burger and a katsu curry chicken, to be served. During this time, we had to endure disruptive children running around the pub. The staff noticed the situation but did not take any action, even though it was clearly bothering guests like us who were seeking a quiet dining experience. We also witnessed a group coming in, but they were discouraged from ordering food, even though the pub was nearly empty by then. There were only a few of us and a few others still waiting for our meals to arrive. The group eventually gave up and had to find food elsewhere.
