"If I could give 6 stars or more I would. We found the Marquis of Granby whilst looking for somewhere pet friendly to stay before travelling back to Europe via the channel tunnel. We arrived late on Thursday evening only to discover I'd booked the wrong date the staff were incredibly accommodating in finding us a room and changing the booking. When we left I forgot my charger and Silva went out of his way to contact me let me know, and offer to post the charger to me. Incredible service, and on top of that the food was outstanding, they have a wonderful selection of local wines and the place is truly dog friendly they were even able to join us for breakfast. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5"

Decided to go for a nice meal tonight with the mrs and chose the Marquis as we seemed to remember the food was quite nice and fancied a more up market place. However we were very dissapointed tonight. It was bang average and I've had better steak dinners at half the price. Such a shame as this has put us off coming back in the future. I don't expect a £40 steak meal to be over cooked, chewy and come with cheap French fries. .

Stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast here. We had drinks before dinner, service was good even though they were fairly busy. Good selection of wines Rooms: Rome was spotless and nicely decorated. Under floor heating in the bathroom was a nice touch Walkability: Lots of areas to walk for all age ranges, short or long (3km-15km) Food drinks: Food was delicious and very well presented Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet
