it was quite busy when we came here on a Sunday, but they still found us a table and we had an excellent Sunday roast. if we were to come back in summer, we would love the garden absolutely!

GREAT PLACE! Not only is it a gorgeous place to visit, the service and food were top notch. Could not fault either in the slightest. After 5hours of travel this was a hidden gem that we found and would love to return. Cannot thank the staff enough for an amazing visit.

here is a private function. all made very beautiful. the only problem was that the ramp for wheelchair users who had access to the pub had rotted and the gast had to be lifted manually, which was not ideal. no disabled facilities on the upper floor, which made it difficult again with a wheelchair driver. Great country pub with good food, friendly staff and a stunning location. This place is perfect for a sunny afternoon or clear evening and has loads of indoor space and a heated patio when it's cooler outside. Good quality pub food and a broad range of ales and drinks. The location is stunning so highly recommended for socialising with friends.

We had an amazing Christmas dinner for our work party yesterday! The staff was excellent and very helpful, and the dining room looked wonderfully festive and beautiful. The highlight was definitely the delicious Christmas dinner and the salted caramel tart was out of this world! The private dining area was ideal for our large group and we had a fantastic time.

the food was delicious, but lasted 50 minutes from the order, had to hunt cauliflower cheese, one finally came ordered two. two had finished dinner before the second came and the bill had added a £25 bottle malbec and not ordered. was a few times before and was slightly disappointed this time. the personal was nice, but it didn't get right. will go again, but bill needs control Ver carta

roast was really good, yorkshire cuts the size of my head! it is a beautiful garden to sit and eat/drink while restrictions are present. also dog friendly, which is great. felt like the service staff was a little slow with order revenue and could have been a little more efficient with service, how constantly drinks and eat at wrong tables, but it is only the first few weeks back so maybe from the practice, but if they stand up for a slow tempo chill afternoon I would recommend!

We were very disappointed and disgusted with our experience at this restaurant. We were a party of 8 who had travelled from Lyme Regis and Swindon to meet as a family for Christmas. Unfortunately, my Father found a large caterpillar cooked into his shredded Cavello Nero. We reported this to the waiter, who took the plate away to confirm with the chef. The waiter came back to confirm the incident, but only provided the excuse that they use organic vegetables and this can happen. The waiting staff tried their best to resolve the issue, but the chef or management did not make themselves visible to apologize. The Christmas decoration and atmosphere at this pub are fantastic and set the stage for a great evening. We were excited to try the dishes from the Christmas Party Menu, with many of us opting for the Ballotine of bronze turkey. The turkey looked and tasted amazing, but we were disappointed with the portion size and the absence of vegetables. We had assumed that side dishes like carrots and sprouts would be served, but we were told that what was on our plate was all we would get: 2 slices of turkey, 1 pig in blanket, a small roast potato, and a medium roast parsnip with a drizzle of juniper jus.
