Always a winner when choosing a local pub. Good menu, friendly service, good value, good atmosphere. Love it there.

Lovely food, bit slow in coming but cooked to perfection especially the fantastic range of vegetables not to mention the Tanglefoot Pie so well worth the wait. Friendly atmosphere, pleasant ambience, real fire much appreciated on a cold day and would definitely recommend dining at The Monmouth Ash.

Four of us met for a friendly lunch and catch up on the gossip. We had lovely meals including one vegetarian meal which was just too much to eat unlike some restaurants who think veggies don't eat and only provide skimpy meals. The waiting staff were excellent not too clingy but available when required.

Very poor service .ordered carvery disappointed when arrived half a chicken on bone not true carvery .then when started to eat found chicken not cooked red in some parts very tough rest of meal unable to after seeing raw chicken also cold l found the all 3 meals the same spoilt family date out not once did the staff ask if everything was alright not very friendly so paid bill and walked out would not go again

I had always heard good things about the Monmouth Ash and before recently I had only been for a casual drink which was very pleasant. However, Sunday 15th Oct I had the beef roast and it wasn't at all tasty; the Yorkshire pudding was stale and tasted as though it had been at the bottom of a freezer for a long time. The vegetables (especially leeks) were very crunchy to the point where they seemed raw I'm usually very fond of crunchy vegetables. The potatoes were just round balls of oil with very little potato inside. The meat was chewy and tasteless. I wouldn't be so disappointed if the restaurant were busy however it wasn't.

We used to frequent this restaurant for our Sunday lunches as our son lived nearby. However, on our recent visit with the family to celebrate his new home, we were disappointed by the quality of the children's meals. The sausages were overcooked and hard, likely reheated in the microwave. When we brought this to the waitress's attention, there was no apology, just a dismissive response. The macaroni cheese was also subpar, clearly microwaved and burnt around the edges. Serving children meals that are poorly reheated is unacceptable, especially considering the prices. We will not be returning to this restaurant until they improve their food quality. There are plenty of better options in the a...
