The Old Eden - Carta

This pub in Edenbridge is pleasant, with a pool table and a lovely garden area. The atmosphere was slightly offputting, but not a major issue. Food is only available on selected nights.

Absolutely love this pub, very Tudor style and lovely food.. great staff and atmosphere. We had dinner and a pudding and it was definitely worth the money. Will be coming to eat here again with our family next time

We had Sunday lunch at the pub and were warmly welcomed, especially because we had an 18-month-old with us. The staff were very attentive and went out of their way to take care of us. I had never been to this restaurant before, but I will definitely be returning. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick, and even though he was the only staff member working, he managed everything well. My husband, daughter, and mother-in-law all enjoyed the steak and kidney pudding. We will definitely be going back again.

Thank you to all the staff who served 22 of us last week for our Christmas lunch. The food exceeded all expectations including turkey, duck, salmon, nut roast… not forgetting the sprouts. Dessert was equally delicious along with the warm mince pies and coffee. Thank you all it’s was a great start to the Christmas celebrations. And I will personally return!

Christmas Eve lunch was spot on! The Old Eden is set in the idyllic town of Edenbridge. The pub is centuries old and generates a warm atmosphere with traditional wooden beams and a delightful wood burner fireplace. Christmas Eve is always busy but the lady attending the bar did a stellar job holding the fort in her colleagues absence. The BLT sandwiches were just wanted we wanted, and really enjoyed the cheesy chips. Great ingredients, great service, food beer. Will return again soon. Thank you! Ver carta

Lunch here ticks so many boxes the pub is centuries old and has masses of character, food was great, pub is dog friendly, ample parking, and plenty of walks on the doorstep. The food was fresh and well prepared. Burgers in pubs these days are usually so tall you have to eat them with a knife and fork but it is surprising how often grease from the patty causes everything to slide around under the knife. Not here, the patty was firm and the filling was just right. Fish and chips were also great, good batter not dripping in oil. As for the service, the pub wasn't full but service was prompt and enthusiastic. what more could you want?

My husband and I were staying nearby in a holiday cottage and we popped into The Old Eden for a quick drink before going on for a meal booked elsewhere. Two weeks after returning home we received a notice for a £100 parking fine. Our car was photographed entering the car park, then leaving half an hour later. I rang the pub to request a copy of our receipt to prove that we had been customers. I spoke to Wes who very kindly said he would contact the issuer and have the fine cancelled. A few days later Roger called to confirm that this had all been processed and we could forget about the fine. Thank you to the staff for your courteous professional help, above and beyond!

The Old Eden is a lovely pub. It's warm, welcoming has a good selection of beers and the staff are lovely, but the Sunday roast I was served was dreadful. My wife and I ordered roast pork and were served a half-inch thick slab of over-cooked pork loin that was so dry and tough I struggled to cut it, let alone chew it. Two undercooked roast potatoes were another dry and unpleasant addition, paired with a pale and slightly under-done Yorkshire pudding. The veg was limited to a sickly-sweet puddle of red cabbage and a splat of mashed carrots and swede. There wasn't enough gravy and the apple sauce had no flavour at all.
