"We visited this pub after reading the reviews...we weren 't disappointed! You can instantly feel the fondness the locals have for this place, its very welcoming to locals visitors. The weather was hammering it down but it was obvious this didn 't deter anyone! Fran made us feel welcome! After contacting her on Instagram, she made a real effort as she knew it was our anniversary. We stopped for lunch on our way to visit Chartwell House. The staff were lovely, very attentive. You can really feel a sense of 'family ' amongst them. The food was delicious! We arrived just after it opened it quickly filled up with dog walkers families. My husband loved the real ale served there, and it was a nice surprise to find a tasty, traditional cider too. Fran even gifted us a couple of real ale glasses! We would highly recommend! Book in advance as its busy. Look forward to re-visiting"

"This is probably the best restaurant in Sevenoaks and it's definitely my favorite. We visited last night for a birthday party and Quentin and the staff were amazing. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. They served us a platter featuring delicious items like brisket, pulled boar, and BBQ ganse, accompanied by equally tasty sides such as smoky, spicy red cabbage, a Puy lentil and blue cheese salad, and of course, BBQ beans (the Bounty BBQ sauce is fantastic). We will definitely be back very soon, and probably quite often. Thank you to the team for making our evening so enjoyable!"

"great pub, great service, great food. we have booked and although they were busy, they created us an ideal table for our party of greeting when we arrived and during our meal was the service first class. with great beer and excellent eating we all enjoyed a really pleasant lunch. very happy to recommend and thanks to the team service in these days is so often bad, so always great to be able to recognize formal large service."

"A return visit to The White Hart, friendly welcome on arrival, shown to our table quickly. Drinks order taken quickly shortly after our food order taken too. All happy with our food, when it came enjoyed Fish Chips, Crispy Chilly Beef Ham, Egg Chips. We thought nice to be sitting in the Conservatory, however there were also 2 tables with a large group of people on each it became so noisy we could not hear each other so would ask not to sit there again. Overall we enjoyed the evening but a bit more of warmth conversation from the Waiter would have been helpful"

"I had a really lovely experience At this restaurant, the Turkish food was amazing and the service was incredible, lots of little attentions to detail and good for kids. Only thing I would say is that for the kids portion £7.50 plus 10% service for a very small portion of shop bought fish fingers and chips is really steep (technically £8.25) which is more than an actual fish and chip shop adult portion and lacked veg/balanced diet perspective, without this it would have been 5 stars all round. Me and my partner had some of the best Turkish food I’ve ever had, I thought the adult portion sizes were generous and tasty. Service and attention to detail was very good, I really liked the hospitality. If the prices for kids food were more appropriate, this would be our go to place x"

"I have been a frequent visitor for a number of years and cannot speak highly enough of it. A terrific place for an evening meal, lunch or sociable drink, with lovely decor and atmosphere. Even when they are busy the staff are always very welcoming and attentive and ensure you are never waiting long to be served. Also it’s a well run and managed venue which helps ensure your visit is always positive."

"We went for Sunday lunch, the manager was great, the setting was lovely and tables well spaced and not cramped. The food on the other hand was forgettable. It was either overly salty in the case of the broccoli and wild garlic soup or unseasoned like the greens and mash. The potatoes seemed like that had been stored under a heater for a while. It’s a good deal at 3 course for 32.50 and a great selection to choose from but you can definitely make a better roast at home. Overall it wasn’t bad but didn’t have the wow factor either."

"Best nice little café in Sevenoaks! Such friendly and speedy service, even when cafe was absolutely full, they were quick, polite and efficient. I’ve been to massive chains restaurants where they can’t cope even when the restaurant is half full. Great food, great prices, great vibe. You’d think i pre booked a table or something, nope, just strolled in and was lucky enough to get a table."

"The Old Eden is a lovely pub. It's warm, welcoming has a good selection of beers and the staff are lovely, but the Sunday roast I was served was dreadful. My wife and I ordered roast pork and were served a half-inch thick slab of over-cooked pork loin that was so dry and tough I struggled to cut it, let alone chew it. Two undercooked roast potatoes were another dry and unpleasant addition, paired with a pale and slightly under-done Yorkshire pudding. The veg was limited to a sickly-sweet puddle of red cabbage and a splat of mashed carrots and swede. There wasn't enough gravy and the apple sauce had no flavour at all. It was a struggle to eat and frankly unpleasant. Of our group of four, none of us enjoyed the meal. I want to support local businesses, but when the quality is this bad I'm left helpless. I'm sorry for this bad review Old Eden, but please sort out your kitchen."

"I have been a patron of Hattusa Sevenoaks for several years, and the food has always been excellent. However, during my most recent visit, there was a noticeable change in the atmosphere. I have always enjoyed Hattusa for its relaxed ambiance, but this time the service felt rushed, from ordering to having our plates cleared. It was clear that we were expected to eat quickly and leave as soon as possible, with the manager even giving us a 10-minute notice to vacate our table. Despite there being only two other occupied tables and over ten empty ones, we were told that our table was needed for a reservation in 10 minutes. We would have been understanding if we were asked to move to a different table, but the only option presented to us was to leave. It is disappointing to say, but we will not be returning to Hattusa and cannot recommend it anymore."

"This used to be a very nice restaurant to dine in but maybe not so good now. Probably best to just have the takeaway option as the food is still very good. We opted to go out for a quick mid week meal only to have drilling works going on within the restaurant which we weren’t made aware of when shown to our table. The guy doing the work dropped all his tools on the floor in the middle of the restaurant whilst we were eating as they fell through the middle of a cardboard box he was carrying them in sending them flying in all directions under the table. We then had to sit through two arguments with customers over telephone orders relating to overcharging and refunds. The guy who was put in charge to manage clearly didn’t have a clue what he was doing. The ambience and detail to service is sadly lacking here now. The last time we came there was no attention to small things like cleaning the table between courses. This time it was slightly chaotic. No restful relaxing meal. We ate our meal and left promptly."

"Visited last night for 60th birthday meal, due to numbers had to sit outside, pub was very busy and menu limited on some items, service was a bit erratic... The waiting team were however friendly and cheerful which made the difference in us having a great time. The food was tasty and arrived hot, at the end of the meal the chef came over and apologised in person which was a nice touch, he even reduced the bill, fantastic customer service. Will definitely be returning."

"So pleased to have the great restaurant finally open. After reading the reviews we were a bit apprehensive but decided we need to support local and give it a try. Yes the restaurant has been redecorated but it’s stylish and there is lots of space between tables so you don’t feel squashed in like sardines. Yes the menus have changed and they are quite big and encapsulated but I’m assuming this is so they can be sprayed and wiped before being handed out and yes the food has had a little revamp. I was so disappointed that the sesame prawns on toast were missing as they were always the best. However David recommended trying the S&P prawns and wow what a recommendation. They were so amazing I can not tell you. Infact everything we had was beautiful including the Pinot noir. It really is still the best Chinese restaurant around and I will be back again soon. The service is always second to none too. Don’t be put off by peoples **** reviews, that really isn’t fair and untrue. Some people just don’t like change but due to covid Chiw’s have had to make these changes for the time being. The hospitality industry has struggled enough the past 18 months."

"We stopped by after a hike and had a fantastic experience with the welcoming and friendly staff. They even catered to dogs with a separate menu, which I had never seen before. I tried the delicious steak and ale pie from the specials board and we were full for the rest of the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back if we are in the area again."

"Went for lunch today having not been to the Kentish Horse for many years. Traditional British Pub with very friendly welcoming bar staff. Interior unchanged, just how we remembered it, lovely large garden. Having had enjoyable meals here before we were slightly disappointed today. The pub wasn't busy but we had what we considered a long wait for two main meals. A Ploughman's with Brie and Stilton was ordered, which came with just the Brie,(even though the barman wrote it down) it would of been better value with a baguette rather than a roll. The chips that were ordered to go with The Steak Roll were over cooked too! My husband asked for a bottle of diet coke, he had started chatting with locals at the bar and didn't notice he had been given an all most flat glass of pump coke. No desserts were ordered but an Irish coffee was that was barely warm. Okay they are all simple things that could of been corrected if brought to the attention of staff, but if they were on the ball they wouldn't need correcting!!"

"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Cooking your own Sunday lunch must now surely have become a thing of the past. It cannot surely be possible to cook a more perfect lunch than this! (Ok the roast potatoes could have been crispier, but thankfully resisted the temptation to race outside and smash my car up . For tiresome technical reasons, my appetite has been bouncing along the bottom of the pond recently. So it was with thrilling excitement that I had three courses at the Fountain all sublime, for the first time in my life! Keep it up Fern; you’re simply the best! Add in a beautiful venue, a delightfully friendly clientele and some extremely well behaved dogs, you’ll hopefully get the picture. Oh, almost forgot: also add in the excellent, fun and relaxed front of house shenanigans provided by the imperious Nigel and Artemis (I didn’t believe it either! and you’ll find yourselves in awe!! Brilliant."

"My wife, myself and our grownup daughter had lunch here a couple of days ago. The pub used to be called 'The Black Boy ' which my wife and I used when we were courting 55 years ago. Price 's have changed since then but first impression on walking in ,was it was like a pub should be. Basic furniture, spacious and welcoming. I found the menu a pleasant change from the usual pub menu, a little quirky which was good. I had Welsh Rarebit, my wife and daughter had Ploughman 's sandwich. They were brilliantly presented and adequate. The rest of the menu was interesting and made a good change from the usual pub menus."
