"We visited this pub after reading the reviews...we weren 't disappointed! You can instantly feel the fondness the locals have for this place, its very welcoming to locals visitors. The weather was hammering it down but it was obvious this didn 't deter anyone! Fran made us feel welcome! After contacting her on Instagram, she made a real effort as she knew it was our anniversary. We stopped for lunch on our way to visit Chartwell House. The staff were lovely, very attentive. You can really feel a sense of 'family ' amongst them. The food was delicious! We arrived just after it opened it quickly filled up with dog walkers families. My husband loved the real ale served there, and it was a nice surprise to find a tasty, traditional cider too. Fran even gifted us a couple of real ale glasses! We would highly recommend! Book in advance as its busy. Look forward to re-visiting"

"This is probably the best restaurant in Sevenoaks and it's definitely my favorite. We visited last night for a birthday party and Quentin and the staff were amazing. They were extremely friendly and accommodating. They served us a platter featuring delicious items like brisket, pulled boar, and BBQ ganse, accompanied by equally tasty sides such as smoky, spicy red cabbage, a Puy lentil and blue cheese salad, and of course, BBQ beans (the Bounty BBQ sauce is fantastic). We will definitely be back very soon, and probably quite often. Thank you to the team for making our evening so enjoyable!"

"Nice service and lovely atmosphere but unfortunately the food was terrible and super over priced. I went with my family for a Sunday roast, I'm a massive meat lover but I couldn't finish one slice of my meat, it tasted like it came out of a package. Very overpriced for low quality food. We've paid the same we would pay for a Sunday lunch at a top steak house in Covent garden Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"One of my favourite pubs in Kent. I travel up to 45 minutes out of my way to stop for a meal. The food is always excellent, especially for such a price point and the selection of beverages very large and of great quality. Special mention to the rotating selection of local beers ales, always a new gem to discover at each visit. The staff is very professional and kind, and have always me feel welcomed and wanting to return back. The pub is fully dog friendly and 4-legged friends will be looked after equally as attentively as hooman patrons, and may even get their drink first with free nibbles "

"After a big build up about Sunday roasts at this pub we arrived with high expectations to our booked table only to be disappointed. They had run out of roast meats and this had then had a knock on to the pork belly option, also not available! We also witnessed others who were so disappointed that they left as soon as they were told no roasts. Which begs the question, who decides how many portions are allocated to bookings and do they need to review the process as they are apparently so well known for a Sunday roast!"

"While visiting Knole, we decided to have lunch at a nearby pub and came across the Bricklayers Arms after a quick Google search. We were pleasantly surprised by the picturesque view of a lovely lake outside the pub. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the staff and promptly handed menus. My partner enjoyed a classic dish of ham, egg, and chips, which did not disappoint with its generous serving of thick ham. I opted for a delicious goats cheese baguette. We left feeling satisfied and happy that we had stumbled upon such a great find. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly, and the staff were welcoming. It was a perfect end to our day, as we didn't have to worry about cooking dinner."

"We have been here a few times, the food is exceptional and good sized servings. The place is divided up into sections so it does not feel massive and yet there are lots of cosy places to sit, drink and chat whilst you wonder what to have from the menu. Would I go again? Certainly it's easy to get to and does not disappoint. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5"

"The Old Eden is a lovely pub. It's warm, welcoming has a good selection of beers and the staff are lovely, but the Sunday roast I was served was dreadful. My wife and I ordered roast pork and were served a half-inch thick slab of over-cooked pork loin that was so dry and tough I struggled to cut it, let alone chew it. Two undercooked roast potatoes were another dry and unpleasant addition, paired with a pale and slightly under-done Yorkshire pudding. The veg was limited to a sickly-sweet puddle of red cabbage and a splat of mashed carrots and swede. There wasn't enough gravy and the apple sauce had no flavour at all. It was a struggle to eat and frankly unpleasant. Of our group of four, none of us enjoyed the meal. I want to support local businesses, but when the quality is this bad I'm left helpless. I'm sorry for this bad review Old Eden, but please sort out your kitchen."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The steak was perfectly cooked, the sides and starters were delicious. The service was outstanding, with the waitress and chefs accommodating my gluten and dairy free restrictions. Thank you to the entire staff for a great experience. Overall, we give this restaurant a 5 out of 5 for food, service, and atmosphere. The price per person was £100+."

"I have been a patron of Hattusa Sevenoaks for several years, and the food has always been excellent. However, during my most recent visit, there was a noticeable change in the atmosphere. I have always enjoyed Hattusa for its relaxed ambiance, but this time the service felt rushed, from ordering to having our plates cleared. It was clear that we were expected to eat quickly and leave as soon as possible, with the manager even giving us a 10-minute notice to vacate our table. Despite there being only two other occupied tables and over ten empty ones, we were told that our table was needed for a reservation in 10 minutes. We would have been understanding if we were asked to move to a different table, but the only option presented to us was to leave. It is disappointing to say, but we will not be returning to Hattusa and cannot recommend it anymore."

"Was sadly disappointed by this place, Squerryes of Westerham, its estate and winery conjures up history, elegance and quality. There is no I quality here, in fact its more of an industrial estate than a beautiful estate, the staff are badly trained and the front...of house manager is as absent as someone on strike. We saw a poor member of staff drop a full tray of food and drinks on customers, the manager looked and hey presto he was absent and off rather than assist the poor young chap and apologise to the guests for the drinks and food down them. Now for our food, for the prices we paid its poor value. Mozzarella that was too hard (not fresh) and lacklustre potted shrimps. My wife did enjoy the mussels for main course but the sauce lacked flavour, my steak £36 ! was not cooked to my order, very dry and chewy, the chips and salad were good. So that starters and main course for two people , two small glasses of wine and two half pints of beer £124.30, I thought we were in London for a minute. This could be a great place if staff training in and outside the kitchen were improved and proper management installed and better value food. We had a wonky table also no amounts of cardboard could solve but that was good enough for the restaurant not fixing our table properly. Reading the reviews management only replies to positive reply’s , wish I had read the reviews before booking."

"I had previously noticed that this pub passed while I visited a nearby location for the work. I stopped by a few weeks ago for a pint and noticed that they have served quite decent looking eating. as a friend who lives close to the oaks suggested that we all come together for Sunday dinner, I suggested that we book a table here. there were eight of us, including two little children. we arrived on the afternoon to be greeted by a very friendly employee called jamie. he put us in a beautiful, cozy corner near the bar. The tables and sitting facilities are good and well spaced. you will never get the feeling of being scratched in a narrow place, in contrast to other pubs that I could mention (note chef and brewery.) the building and decor is all that they would expect from a typical British country pub. nothing cautious, all traditional. as it should be. we felt right here at home and jamie made sure we were well looked around. on the bar there was a good choice of layers and ales. I ordered a pint of harveys sussex ale and it was a very good pint in the did. the owners obviously know how to take care of their ales. Once our drinks were served, it was time to order our food. the children ordered the typical nuggets and chips as they would expect. three of us ordered the shoulder of the lamb, while someone else ordered the 42 days rumpsteak. we only waited about 20 minutes for the arrival of food, partly because we are the first. the lamb was extremely tender and juicy. the bratkartoffeln were just like my gran, with a nice light cripple to them and fluffy as they like on the inside. they also had a great color. the lamb roasts were served with a large homemade yorkshire pudding that were boiled to perfection. this is homemade eating, cooked by people who can actually cook. there is a rareness! my neice had instructed her steak to be medium-sized and she was not disappointed. the steak was cooked as she likes it, and was obviously left behind for the right time. it was a great color, spiced exactly right and the perfect tenderness. they gave him a very big thumb. Meanwhile, jamie was close to the hand to make sure our glasses never ran dry. this guy is really on his game. the service was impeccable. we finished our meals with a selection of desserts from the menu. the jam with custard is particularly delicious and they are not stingy with the crug, in contrast to other places I was. the last bill was very reasonable. £180 for eight main courses with desserts, seven pints of ale and numerous softdrinks and hot chocolates. that are 22,50 pounds per head. where else can they get perfect service, fantastic ale and perfectly cooked eating for this price? I rest my case m 'lud. the owners of this place are obviously on the button and must be very proud. well done to all those who took care of us today."
"First time to White Rocks Inn today. Booked for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed! First impressions were excellent. Charming proper inn (dog friendly nice touch) and very friendly greeting by staff. Shown to what we thought was the best table in the house, number 9. Looking out across the fields and sat by a lovely warm radiator just perfect. The lunch could not be faulted. Generous portions of lovely home cooked food. Yum! Service was impeccable and staff all so friendly. Will most definitely revisit. Thanks for a very pleasant couple of hours. Wheelchair accessibility: A lovely couple sat next to us with their son in a wheelchair who told us they were frequent White Rocks customers. "This small lunch spot was a pleasant surprise! What started as a lunch for 3 colleagues turned into a group of 7 when we walked in. Soprano looks small from the outside, but it's actually quite spacious with hidden seating at the back. We were warmly welcomed by a friendly server who promptly seated us and handed us menus. The menu had a great selection of piadinas, paninis, sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, with unique fillings and toppings that you wouldn't find at chain cafes or pubs. There were also plenty of drink options, including iced teas, alongside the standard teas and coffees. Our gluten-free colleague was well taken care of as well. The service and food quality were excellent, and the prices were fair for the delicious food we received. Besides lunches, this gem of a find also offers mouthwatering cakes and has a liquor license. We were thrilled to have found this place and regretted not discovering it sooner. Fortunately, it's just a few minutes away from our office so we'll definitely be returning."

"Gluten Free Chinese food! Our young Daughter has Coeliac disease and I also eat strictly Gluten free. We’ve eaten wonderful Gluten free food many times at Chows with no issues with Gluten, just great food and impeccable care from all staff and Chefs. All the staff are highly trained to avoid cross contamination and you can be confident they serve Coeliac -safe food. It’s always a treat to eat at Chow’s!"

"Went for lunch today having not been to the Kentish Horse for many years. Traditional British Pub with very friendly welcoming bar staff. Interior unchanged, just how we remembered it, lovely large garden. Having had enjoyable meals here before we were slightly disappointed today. The pub wasn't busy but we had what we considered a long wait for two main meals. A Ploughman's with Brie and Stilton was ordered, which came with just the Brie,(even though the barman wrote it down) it would of been better value with a baguette rather than a roll. The chips that were ordered to go with The Steak Roll were over cooked too! My husband asked for a bottle of diet coke, he had started chatting with locals at the bar and didn't notice he had been given an all most flat glass of pump coke. No desserts were ordered but an Irish coffee was that was barely warm. Okay they are all simple things that could of been corrected if brought to the attention of staff, but if they were on the ball they wouldn't need correcting!!"

"First visit to this Indian Restaurant and actually very good, we are a bit fussy with Indian food : Really looking forward to going back again and trying some different dishes. The Pathia was great as was the Tarka Dall. Service was unhurried and calm. Not too expensive, good portion sizes and served with a smile. Clean and fresh environment. Thank you Edit: Came back, tried the chicken tamarind. Would better as a small side dish, lovely dish but after 2 mouthfuls was a bit too much. Don't forget your coat as it was freezing inside. "My wife, myself and our grownup daughter had lunch here a couple of days ago. The pub used to be called 'The Black Boy ' which my wife and I used when we were courting 55 years ago. Price 's have changed since then but first impression on walking in ,was it was like a pub should be. Basic furniture, spacious and welcoming. I found the menu a pleasant change from the usual pub menu, a little quirky which was good. I had Welsh Rarebit, my wife and daughter had Ploughman 's sandwich. They were brilliantly presented and adequate. The rest of the menu was interesting and made a good change from the usual pub menus."
