"Outstanding restaurant! Would highly recommend paying a visit! Food was great, service was excellent and has a very friendly atmosphere! We came over from hereford and it was well worth the journey,we will definitely be paying frequent visits. We had Alice's smokey stew and dumplngs, Mung bean curry, caramelised plantain, and a chocolate delight, everything was cooked perfectly with beautiful flavours, left us feeling happy and full! We really can't pour enough praise on Karibu, perfect experience in every way! Thank you for everything!"

"I'm staying at the Falcon for three nights, but sensing that something is awry. So I popped into the Oak, mid-afternoon, and the contrast was immediate, and palpable. In the end, I cancelled my dinner reservation at the Falcon, went back to the Oak later, and whilst waiting for a table, because the place was packed, wondered what the Falcon is doing so badly wrong. Firstly, it's not the staff. I get on fine with them all. Secondly, it's not the food. The lads in the kitchen are doing a fine job. So, I asked around, and the consensus in both places seems to be that Balfour are pushing the Falcon too far upmarket and chasing away a lot of business, especially locals. Basically, it is a country pub, and it needs to stop trying to be a posh hotel. It is the business model that is wrong, not the staff, and sacking people, and constantly re-recruiting will not solve the problem. It may well be that Balfour have to accept that they do not know how to run this place, and they may need to divest themselves of the Falcon, and find a better home for it. I only wish the Oak had rooms. I didn't want to leave this evening. There was a wonderful, warm and friendly atmosphere in the place, which, right now, the Falcon cannot match. Dr Paul Harris"

"Haven’t been here for some time, lovely spacious restaurant with plenty of outside seating. Reasonable choices on lunch menu.. we both chose Lamb Koftas with Vegetable Biryani, curry sauce leaves. Looked interesting, when it arrived there were 3 small lamb koftas, a small mound of Biryani rice with veg, curry sauce and leaves with a salad dressing. It didn’t really go together, each tasting ok on its own and wasn’t very filling either. Shame but at least we tried it."

"This is the second time in 4 weeks that I have had Sunday roast here and both times were really really nice. On both occasions we were 4 kids and 4 adults. The staff were super accommodating and helpful. We had beef brisket and the kids had fish and chips. Nothing seemed to be too much for the waiter serving with us who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He even went off to find something for my fussy lad who wanted chocolate sauce rather than caramel which wasn't even on the menu! We shall be going again! Also to top it off they have a really gorgeous sunny beer garden with fabulous valley views."

"I had a fantastic filet steak that was cooked to perfection. For dessert, I enjoyed a coffee-flavored egg with a soft chocolate center, accompanied by flaming sambuca. I visited from Yorkshire, but I would definitely go back whenever I'm in the area again."
