Had an hour before the next train, perfect spot 5 mins walk for a cheeky beer

The restaurant lacks soul and the staff seem indifferent to what happens there. I do not recommend it.

I took my daughters and son-in-law out for lunch, only to be told that they didn't have any ales available. It seemed like a case of poor management.

Not that much of an atmosphere for the Sunday when we visited, they did have screens uo for the cricket but only a hand ful of people inside. However staff are very helpful. Ver carta

Great local pub with a friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed the 'Purley week ' entertainments staff were great in bringing events to life. Ideally would have been handy to order food a little later in the evening, the kitchen closed at 8pm. Still a great night out though, kind of the staff to give us reasonable time finish our drinks after the bar was closed without rushing us.

This pub is perfect! Good drinks, great food and the staff is polite, available and professional. The price is super fair, the turkey pie is delicious, the fish and chips is the real deal, I mean it is the way it is supposed to be . We drove hours to find a place where we could watch the F1, MotoGP and NFL...no sucess...everywhere we went the tvs where on soccer matches...then I found them on google and called them asking if they could help and guess what: they set a tv only for us! We had an amazing afternoon and evening there. It has just became my fav pub in London. You guys are the top!

We had a bad experience a few months back and had avoided the Pear Tree so came back. My advice is go there for a drink in a nice atmosphere but don't bother with the food. The kitchen is sublet to some Korean BBQ burger brand on JustEat and that takes priority over pub orders. Our food was so bad I was embarrassed to take it back. 1 of 3 dishes was part inedible, another wasn't what we ordered and the 3rd was actually ok. We used to get a lot for our money but not now. After knowing how they run their kitchen and 2 really bad experiences with the food I'm reluctant to go back. I just wish they'd actually serve the food from the JustEast restaurant that they sublet the kitchen to as it looks... Ver carta
