"We turned up during a storm with dogs in tow and found a warm, dog-friendly place with comfort food. Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options but the Halloumi salad with fries sounds good. They also do macaroni cheese. We had the root vegetable pie with chunky chips, which was nice and tasty. It made a nice change to usual pub food. Parking: We parked at the side on the road near the pub but there is a car park further along. Kid-friendliness: There is a children's menu. "Visited Ganders in St Helens for lunch today, our first visit though won’t be our last. The welcome we received was lovely and our experience got even better whilst we were there. The menu is varied so plenty to choose from, we chose a fish dish which was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, served with amazing roast potatoes, so crispy with a divine soft centre plus a selection of steamed veggies and tartar sauce. All beautifully presented, very much enjoyed with a glass of white wine. For dessert we chose the pavlova and sticky toffee pudding both of which were truly yummy. Thank you Ganders for a wonderful meal and for the great service we received. 5 star for sure."

"A very windy and wet day. Choppy sea causing the restaurant to sway slightly whilst try to eat. It made the visit interesting, but still had a great meal with drinks. There were seven people in our group for meals and drinks. Limited parking here. Parking: Limited parking on site, but parking on verge opposite is possible. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"

"What a delightful surprise! This was our first time at The Vine, and we arrived late on a Sunday evening to find it bustling with customers. The friendly staff informed us there might be a 45-minute wait due to a shortage of workers, but our food arrived in just 22 minutes. We both chose the Chicken and Chorizo Tagliatelle and were extremely happy with our decision. The dish was served hot and cooked to perfection. It was a wonderful meal, and the garlic bread was the best I've had in ages. We can't wait for our next visit. Thank you!"

"Wow!! What can I say !!! The last time I came here was 2016 with my son and the restaurant consisted of a couple of tables and no toilet !!! We had no preconceptions and came with my in laws who live on the island!!! After a bit of a Rocky start with service the food was delivered!! To say that the quality and quantity was out of this world was an understatement!!! We all ordered the sea food platter !!! The variety of beautiful fish was outstanding and so was the freshness and quality!!! The waitress who’s Birthday it was dressed in a beautiful pink dress who's shift started while we were in the middle of our meal was the best !!! Make sure you keep her she turned the service to an outstanding immediately!!! This restaurant is an absolute must if you visit the island !!! If you compare the quality and freshness along with the price it beats the Hut in Colwell Bay in every category hands down !!!We will talk about our experience for many months and can’t wait until we are back next year to experience it again !!! Sea food Heaven !!Thanks for the best night out we have had all year"
