The Prince - Carta

Comfortable pub for a birthday party, there was 30-50 of us and we got a whole floor to ourselves. The food was nice, it's not cheap but tasty. I had a mushroom burger and sweet potato fries.

The Sunday roast was mediocre at best. The order was initially incorrect. The potatoes were poorly roasted and lacked crispiness. Additionally, having beetroot as part of the vegetable selection on a Sunday roast was disappointing.

On a positive note, the Sunday roasts were excellent, even though they arrived suspiciously fast, in under 5 minutes of ordering. I wish the same could be said for the drinks. Overall, it was not the worst experience, but we will not be in a rush to return. Ver carta

Have had a number of lovely meals here previously but this Sunday, orders were mixed up and food forgotten, service was incredibly slow and never followed up and the food was a poor standard with undercooked chicken being served. Manager attempted to negotiate when we complained despite the poor service and unsafe food. Such a shame, used to be a lovely pub.

Came here last night for an amazing time of life art session tutored by Dan Whiteson who’s simply awesome with his method and approach. Never a dull moment and great artistic atmosphere upstairs and very fair price of £7 drop in fee with wonderful vibes thruout. It’s on every Tuesday night from 8-10pm and any level or artist, beginners or experienced ones can attend.

I frequented this pub often when it first opened and it was the top pub in Stoke Newington. However, it has now become dirty and the service from the woman behind the bar is terrible – not a single smile. Drinks were spilled and we had to clean it up ourselves. The food was also disappointing, with a bowl of salt accompanying a few fries and a poorly tasting rubbery burger. The current owners should consider shutting down the establishment so that someone new can come in, clean it up, and inject some love into it. Overall, the experience was shockingly bad. Ver carta

Haven’t visited The Prince for about five years, since I moved out of Stoke Newington! But returned today to visit family and we weren’t disappointed! Still a typically lovely, local but even better than I remember it being! There were three of us plus baby, plus dog and all of us were looked after so wonderfully! The service was fantastic… relaxed, friendly and it just added to the experience! The roasts were delicious.. big portions (huge yorkshires) delicious meat trimmings and the wine was great! What a disappointment. I haven’t been to this pub for a long time and was keen to retry it. The pub seems to have missed the secret of a good restaurant, food and service. Whilst having no complaints about the food the service was so poor it lost out on the purchase of four sweets , and perhaps of less significance to the owners, or praise. Two guys swanned around at the entrance but seemed to feel that apart from greeting, service was well below there pay grade. This left one poor girl to serve most of the tables. The Prince hosted our wedding this weekend, at the back of the pub. When booking we knew that they had a wedding in the room above and it was a Saturday so likely to be busy but Will was amazing throughout the booking period, keeping us informed throughout and sending across the food/drink choices with plenty of time. On the day, I headed over early and Will helped me to move stuff around to my taste and decorate how I wanted the area to be.
