"I booked a one-night stay at this hotel as I had a funeral the following day. I arrived early and decided to have Sunday lunch, which was delicious. I would like to compliment the chef for the tasty and hot food. Despite being quite busy, the staff managed to serve us efficiently. We had to wait half an hour for dessert as they had run out of what we initially ordered, but they provided us with a suitable alternative. After lunch, we checked in and were shown to room 111. The room was a lovely double with a TV, freeview, and a nice shower room. The next morning, we enjoyed a full English breakfast before leaving. Overall, it was a great and pleasant stay with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The late checkout was very helpful and made everything perfect. The pub, bar, and lounge area were all clean and staff were friendly. Despite some negative reviews, I would not hesitate to return as the staff work hard to provide a lovely experience. We had an amazing lunch at this restaurant. The staff were extremely helpful and the assistant manager was very courteous. The food was outstanding. We will definitely return in the future. Ver carta

Great place to eat and food is delicious. Service with a smile from the bar staff, and there was bands playing for a charity festival and the whole experience was one I will be going back for In the near future

The food was subpar, with a lot of reheating instead of real cooking. The addition of a loud DJ made the experience even worse, causing many customers to leave in search of a quieter spot to chat. It's unclear why this small pub has such a loud DJ, as it seems to be driving away customers.

Went to the venue for drinks and then decided to get some nibbles/food. Asked for the large Chicken wings only to be told they don’t have any. The new ownership were supposed to have sorted all this stuff out, basically the same as it’s always been. If you pick the right thing you’re ok, if not, same old, same old, “we haven’t got it”. Visited for a family meal staff was extremely friendly and helpful as it was our first visit the food was lovely waiting time was efficient as staff knew we didnt have a lot of time to wait they made sure we got our food and we all very much enjoyed it was great menu choices and great value for money the atmosphere around the pub was warm and friendly would highly recommend

On entering this pub the staff were lovely and friendly . The roast was shocking !! Worst roast I’ve ever eaten in my life !! The chicken was tasteless the roast potatoes were 4 aunt Bessie frozen style potatoes the veg was cubed up swede and parsnip I’d say school dinners were more tasty . The side order of coliflower cheese looked like a tiny bowl of porridge all milky and no cheese flavour at all . They should not be charging 13 pound a roast for that rubbish and the chef needs to take up another career or go back to serving inmates in jail !!!
